Chapter 1 - Losing Your Other Half

Katsumi and Maiko were in their shared bedroom getting ready for a party they were invited to. Both of the girls were exited and trying to do everything to look their best. Of course as the most popular they had to pose a good impression at the party. 

Katsumi had waist long red hair she usually kept in a high ponytail. She was mostly stuck in her sister shadow but she preferred it that way. They were both equally popular but even no one could see it it was her sister that really enjoyed the fame. Katsumi was only their for the ride.

Maiko had the same red hair her sister possessed but a bit shorter, and usually loose. They both had dark blue eyes and pointy noses. Identical in almost every sense expect their personalities. 

No one could call Katsumi shy, because she wasn't. But she wasn't as outgoing as her sister. 'Katsumi, here. Try this.' Her sister said passing her a gold strappy dress. Katsumi just accepted it trying it on. She knew how it was going to look. Maiko was wearing the exactly same one as her. But she tried to look exited anyway.

For the past few days she haven't been feeling well. She didn't want to say anything to their mother since she was busy with work and it was pointless worrying her. While Maiko wasn't really the type to worry, she would to tell her to suck it up.

'We going to rock this party!' Maiko said excitedly. 'Of course we are.' Katsumi finally laughed, matching her sisters enthusiasm. We were the same, yet different. We were one.

Sitting in the taxi, waiting for Maiko to come down Katsumi fidgeted nervously. Something was not right, she could feel it to the very core of her being. But she couldn't do anything about it. It's not like she could call off coming to the party. Maiko would never agree to that. Even if she did, she would just go alone. And that would be worse than the alternative.

Katsumi signed, she hated these weird feelings that sometimes came over her. They ruined her fun, made her uneasy. Maiko finally came out of the front door. Trying to lock the door and put on her heels at the same time. Katsumi let out a laugh. That was definitely her sister, trying to multitask and failing badly.

When Maiko finally got in the taxi Katsumi give the man an address and they were on their way. If only Katsumi knew that was the last party she would attend with her sister.

They stopped in front of a big house, almost a mansion. Loud music was blaring out and neon lights were visible from the windows. Maiko squiled  excited while Katsumi just shook her head. The horrible feeling still lingering, making itself known. 'Cheer up Katsumi, it's party time!' Maiko shook her twin. 'Ok, ok.' Katsumi give up and let her sister cheer her up a little.

Maiko was out first while Katsumi stayed to pay the driver. Due to the fact that they were both 16 neither of them could drive and their mum was always at work. So the taxi services knew them well by now.

Katsumi caught up with her sister at the front door. Maiko was talking to some guy from their school. 'Hey!' Katsumi said getting her twins attention. 'We going in right?' She questioned again trying to get rid of the guy.

Thankfully he seemed to get the message and started heading in himself. 'Oh Katsumi, didn't you see how hot he was?' Maiko whined like a little child. 'Hot, but a player. And you don't want to ruin your reputation with a jert like him.' Katsumi said, trying to show reason to her sister.

'Yea, yea.' Maiko said still unhappy about her new eyecandy getting away. I catch later again. She thought to herself as both girls went inside.

So far the party was going smoothly, Katsumi and Maiko caught up with some of their friends from school and were having proper girl fun. Maiko was drinking away while Katsumi didn't even touch her drink yet. Another difference between them. While Maiko loved getting drunk Katsumi always prefered to stay sober.

Suddenly there was a scream. Followed by more screaming.  Katsumi had no idea what was going on. The group of girls looked around frantically but they could no see what was causing the panic.

Then everyone started trying to flee. Somehow in all the crazyness someone pushed Katsumi, which made her hit her head and black out.

Katsumi felt pain. Like a really bad hangover but a lot worse. She opened her eyes slowly to see red. It wasn't her hair on her face like usually when she woke up, it was the room. Bloody red.

She tried to push herself up to realise something heavy was on top of her. When Katsumi looked she immediately let out a scream. On top of Katsumi was her sisters body, headless.

Out of nowhere there were footsteps, heavy footsteps. In Katsumi view came a figure, covered in red from head to toe. But what was more terrifying was what the figure was holding, in it's right hand was Maiko head. Expresion forever frozen in never ending look of horror.

Katsumi let out a sob. This couldn't be happening, it was all a horrible nightmare a soon she was going to wake up. The desperate girl thought to herself not truly being able process what was happening.

The figure started walking towards Katsumi. 'N-no.' The girl let out a terryfied whisper. 'Please don't.' The figure didn't stop, it slowly kept walking towards.

It all was too much for poor Katsumi because before the figure could fully reach her she passed out. Covered in blood the girl sank into cold black oblivion.

Sup guys!

So this is like the first proper fanfic I started writing, not really sure what I'm doing hehe  But anyways I first got into Deadman Wonderland last week and omg I'm in love. Fav characters are defo Senji (crow) and Toto (mockingbird) so I probably involve them a lot. I'm quite dissipointed on the lack of fanfics on DW :( It's such an awesome anime/manga that I'm actually suprised. Anyways thanks for reading :)
