CHRISTIAN’S POV

We came back into the house laughing our heads off, that was pure gold. I should feel guilty, but they were kind of bitches and all.

“Should we be afraid of payback?” Brock asked, looking around at us all.

“From them?” Mitchel scoffed and we high fived. “Trust me mate, we have nothing to worry about.”

And we thought we didn’t. Which is why we were so relaxed for the rest of the day. Bad move.

“Night boys,” I said into the dark as we all got into bed. It was easy to fall asleep, somehow the animal sounds in the walls didn’t bother me, well okay it barely bothered me.

I woke up to an insane amount of sunlight in my eyes, stretching and covering my face with my hands.

“What the – those bitches!” Tyrone’s voice made me sit up in surprise. No. Freaking. Way. We were out on the roof. How is that even possible? They had literally picked up our sleeping bags and carried them out onto the roof. How could we not have woken up? Mitch started at our voices and rolled, stopped only by Luke and I grabbing him from rolling right off the roof.

“Good morning boys,” a cheerful voice called from the ground. The girls were sitting around on lawn chairs in their pyjamas, drinking from steaming mugs. They smiled and waved up at us as we tried to slip out of our sleeping bags and stand up without risking our lives.

“I’m going to kill them,” I announced once we were safely back inside. “Let’s take a walk, shall we boys.”

A couple of hours later, we were back at the house after walking down to the beach a few minutes away. We were chilling up in our room, just waiting for the explosion. Then the door swung shut downstairs and we heard footsteps on the stairs.

“Hey Lo,” Maeve’s voice was getting closer. “Yeah, we’re alright. Oh yeah, we’re getting along perfectly. No, they’re really nice. Oh shut up. Nah, that’s cool. Um yeah, we can manage that. Alright yeah, seeya, bye.”

“Oh my god,” Georgia laughed. “You should see this twee – Oh my god!” And boom! We all gathered around the doorway, trying to see what was happening

“My shoes!”

“My pillow, oh gross!”

“Is that – oh my god, it’s seaweed.”

“The jerks put it in my guitar!” Georgia said angrily. Score two to us. “I’m going to kill someone. Nobody messes with my guitar. They have officially crossed the line.” Oops.

“Something wrong ladies?” Mitch stepped out onto the landing and they all turned and glared at us. “We’re going down to make dinner, can we get you anything?”

We enjoyed our little victory for approximately two hours and 40 minutes. We set up a movie on the TV downstairs and spread out over the couches. The girls came downstairs carrying a couple of canvas bags over their shoulders and dressed all in black.

“Um what are you doing?” I asked, just a little suspicious.

“Oh nothing you need to worry about,” Taylah shrugged. “We just have to go and um – get something.” Then they laughed and hurried out. We looked around at each other unsurely, but we forgot about it soon enough.

Our movie was almost at the end when the night was pierced by an earsplitting scream for help. We immediately jumped to our feet and ran outside without thinking about it. There was a small forest at the back of the block and we headed straight for it. Another scream brought us further in and we slowed down as it somehow got even darker.

There was a rustling nearby and a twig snapped and I am slightly embarrassed to say that I jumped and was slightly shitting myself. Something touched my back and I screamed, way too high-pitched to be normal. We turned around and there was nothing there, and then there was.

“What the fu-” we all screamed as the girls bent over in hysterical laughter. My heart was beating a million miles per hour. “That was not funny.”

“Oh I disagree,” Georgia choked out between laughs. We stormed out of the forest. Actually, we tried to storm out, but trees all look incredibly similar and one dark bit of bushes and grass looks the same as another dark bit of bushes and grass.

“Shit, where are you guys?” A nervous girl’s voice came from near me. “Oh my god! Something touched me, something just touched me!”

“There’s nothing there,” I assured her. Looking more closely I could see it was Georgia. She tripped on a bush and grabbed my arm to steady herself. Then she didn’t let go because it was dark and I was the only person around.

“Where did everyone go?” I asked into the darkness.

“Christian was that you?”

“Tyrone?” I called back. A dark shape emerged from between a couple of trees.

“Christian, come here, I found a way out,” he grabbed my sleeve and pulled me towards a patch of moonlight. I led Georgia along so we were in a little chain. We emerged into the open and I took in a deep breath. Georgia dropped my arm just as the others came out.

“Well that was fun,” Taylah said sarcastically, picking twigs out of her hair.

“It actually kind of was,” Brock laughed, running a hand through his own hair.

“Sorry we um, sorry we scared you,” Maeve said awkwardly and the other girls nodded. “And put your stuff on the roof.”

“Well in that case, sorry about the waterbombs,” Luke added. “Oh, and the seaweed.”

“Why are we trying to kill each other again?” Mitchel asked and we all went a little quiet. “Because I honestly have no idea.”

“Well, I’m pretty sure you guys think we’re bitches,” Maeve pointed out. Okay, true. “And we kind of thought you were arrogant jerks.” Okay, I guess that could be true…

“Can we give this up?” I put it to the group. “This is kind of exhausting. I can’t keep this up for a week let alone a whole tour.”

“Agreed,” we all said together and laughed. “Let’s go inside, the mozzies are coming out.”
