Her Final Days

In the morning at the recorder's office.

Kakashi was scanning through a pile of documents.

The information clerk brought over another stack of papers and put it down on the desk.

"Why are you investigating this? I thought the red light district case was over." The clerk leaned in over the document Kakashi was looking at.

Kakashi covered the page he was reading with his arms. "Just tying up some loose ends. Thank you for your help." He flashed his usual fake smile.

The clerk walked away.

Kakashi went back to the paper. He thought he recognized the name Mr. Naito mentioned as her next customer, which would be her last one whether he knew it or not. As he feared, it was one of the names that came up during the investigation.

'This guy is dangerous. What am I gonna do...'

According to the information he gathered, it would be from tonight Kinchou was supposed to be with this guy. Kakashi was worried. He kept thinking about her. He was not assigned to any mission now. As a matter of fact, Kakashi was told to stay put because they would soon make the official announcement of him as the next hokage.

'What can you do, Kakashi?' he asked himself. 'She wants to keep her words and go home, that's what she wants. Just leave it,' He told himself repeatedly. 'Is it because I don't want her to leave?' He shook his head. 'No, that's not it. This is to let her go safely as she planned without Naito's interference,' Kakashi convinced himself.

'I wonder how she's doing...'

The other day Kakashi had waited for her in the woods.

Animals also waited around and kept looking toward the direction Kinchou was supposed to come from, just like Kakashi. Only she did not come.

Kakashi closed the report and headed out.

Jonins were gathered in the meeting hall. Tsunade was going over the issues amongst shinobis and the town and what had been communicated with other nations.
