(Y/N) POV

As I awoke, Seán noticed me and smiled. I returned the favor and smiled back, sitting up and stretching. "How'd you sleep?" Seán asks, I shrugged, "Alright I guess. You?" He replied, "Pretty good for being in a hospital." He smiled after saying that, I guess he was just in a good mood.

A nurse walked in and handed him his breakfast, "Make sure you eat as much of this as you can, Seán." He dully nodded, "Yes ma'am." She satisfactorily left the room, the atmosphere immediately becoming less thick. "What was that all about?" I asked. A small voice in the back of my head was telling me that I shouldn't have asked him that.

He looked away and stabbed at his food with the plastic fork the hospital provided. He sighed, remaking eye contact with me. "Last time I was here Anti had starved me to the point that he couldn't heal me, so he left me outside the hospital until a nurse found me and brought me inside. Then I was diagnosed with an eating disorder due to how skinny I was. But long story short, now if I'm at any hospital they're going to monitor my eating very closely."

I slowly nodded, taking all of the information in. Anti has done this before? Hurt him so bad to the point where even he couldn't help him? But if he was willing to hurt him so much, why would he try to save him? Is there some type of connection I don't know about? I opened my mouth to ask Seán more about Anti when an older woman burst into the room, tears streaming down her slightly wrinkled face.

"Oh my baby boy!" She wrapped him in a warm hug and he patted her back, "Hey, mom." He said, bringing a smile to my face. I'm glad he had someone other than me willing to come and see him. She released him from the hug and sat in the chair next to him that I was in just last night. She held his hand in hers and sighed, "Didn't I tell you to be more careful?" She scolded.

Seán nodded and looked down, seemingly ashamed. She looked over and saw me, nearly jumping out of her skin. "Ah! Oh I didn't see ya there! What's your name?" I chuckled and introduced myself, "My name is (Y/N), and I'm one of Seán's friends so I've just been visiting him." She looked at Seán for approval and he nodded, taking a bite of the pancakes from his tray.

She then looked back at me and smiled, "Well I'm glad you were here while I wasn't. Thank you for looking out for him." I simply nodded in response as she turned back around and laid her head on his arm as he ate. I stood up and smiled at Seán, leaving the room to give them some time alone. I'm sure he missed her.

As I walked down the hospital hallways I felt alone; so alone that my soul had an icy feeling to it. Like it had been stranded in the middle of a blizzard, it's only purpose being to slowly die off as a reaction to the blistering cold. Darkness overcame my mind and thoughts of horrible things became overwhelming. My breaths were becoming shallow and my vision blurred.

I found a chair and sat for a moment, trying to deepen my breaths and clear my head. Thinking happy thoughts, I eventually calmed down and decided to head back to Seán's room.
When I got there, his mother was gone and he was staring out the window, his heart rate monitor beeping steadily. "Hey." I said, attempting to start a conversation.

He jumped and his head twisted in my direction, "Holy shit, (Y/N), you scared me!" He said with a laugh. I laughed as well and apologized. He said it wasn't a problem and we continued to talk about his mom so I could get a better understanding of his past.

•One Week Later•

Seán was cleared to leave and he invited me to his place; I happily accepted. Neither of us had a car at this point but he somehow still had his phone, so he called an Uber and when it arrived we hopped in. Soon enough we were headed to his place, the scenery changing from city-like, to country with miles and miles of fields. A variety of different crops being grown.

The car slowed in front of a small cabin that was on top of a large hill, the grass a bright green. Seán paid the driver and we got out, the Uber pulling away. We walked up the hill and as we got to the top Seán lifted up the welcome mat to reveal a key. He chuckled and looked at me, "Don't even tell me how basic this is, trust me I already know. He said, ending his sentence with an eye roll.

I giggled in response as he unlocked the door, holding it open for me. "After you my lady." He said with a smile, I curtsied and giggled, "Why thank you kind sir!" He laughed as I walked in the house, immediately recognized the interior. It was a mirror image of Anti's house, but everything wasn't black. The sofa was a deep red, and the carpet was a light grey. It added some life to the room.

Seán closed the door behind me and sighed, "Welcome to my humble abode! Make yourself at home. Mi casa es tu casa after all." He said. I smiled and he walked into the kitchen offering me snacks and such. I followed behind, not wanting to be alone.
