akaashi was in his room, studying as he had planned yesterday. though, he for some reason couldn't stop thinking about what had happened in the morning.
it had been hours of him just reading and dozing off, rereading paragraphs because of his lack of focus.
images of a sleep bokuto with fluffy hair made akaashi smile every time he thought about it.
weird.
since when did he think of bokuto as cute? he's seen him like that countless time, yet for some reason, it felt different.
suddenly, there was a knock on the door of his room. "come in" he said, taking off his glasses to rest his eyes.
obviously, it was bokuto on the other side. he was pouting- is that an owl plush? it looks just like him.. how adorable.
uh oh, here we go again with the dozing off.
"what's wrong, bokuto-san?" the black haired boy asked, a hint of tiredness in his voice.
taking a small breath, the other boy embarrassingly said, "y-you've been studying for hours now and i feel lonely." he looked at his owl plush. "maybe... you can take a break and eat dinner with me?"
akaashi smiled a bit. "of course."
.................
they ended up just ordering some food. akaashi was tired, and didn't trust bokuto alone in the kitchen.
while they waited, they just sat on the couch, scrolling through their phones.
they sat close, making akaashi rest his head on the other's shoulder. he eventually fell asleep thanks to the studying he was doing earlier.
bokuto didn't mind one bit. on the contrary, he enjoyed the company after hours of not seeing each other.
"akaashi looks so peaceful while sleeping." he thought, a smile spreading across his face. he also leaned in, resting his own head on the other's. still scrolling through his phone for a while more, this was the most comfortable he had felt in a while.
......that was until he heard a knock on the door.
sighing, he gently woke akaashi up from the short nap and walked to the door.
bokuto thanked the delivery man and set the food on the dining table. as he did that, the sleepy boy on the couch got up and stretched a bit.
they ate and spoke while doing so as they usually do everyday.
they are up all the food and cleaned up a bit. it was nice to be able to relax after all those classes.
they headed to bokuto's room since the tv was bigger there. plus, the bed was softer than the couch.
"i'll get my books and journal from my room-"
"you should stop studying for too many hours at a time and spend more time with me, akaashi." bokuto said, once again pouting.
the other boy sighed softly. "i don't want to fail though. i've worked hard to get into this college and can't let it slip away from me." akaashi replied.
"so what if you fail every one in a while? we're all human.
this was easier said than done for akaashi, however. having been pressured to always strive for the best, failure was way out of the picture. no one ever reminded him of his emotions.
thinking about all of this make him tear up a bit, making bokuto feel the need to comfort him.
he pulled akaashi into a tight embrace, making them fall over onto the bed.
"listen. from today on, i will be the one conducting your studying hours. the rest, you get to choose." the older boy said, not letting go of the other.
"we're going to take advantage of this time and have fun. deal?"
"deal" akaashi smiled.
