To awake or to be awoken.

"Where am I??" She asked herself, not remembering a single thing. She watched her surroundings cautiously, waiting for something to occur. Anything. But nothing happened. It was as if she was caught frozen in the perennial nihility.
Perplexed, she wandered around the area. But it was almost like walking with no movement. A GPS with no destination, or map in general.
The young maiden stood, her feet glued together, almost crossing over one another as she looked behind her.
".. Is anyone there...?"

"How's her condition..?" Yeonjun asked, eyeing a very stressed out Taehyun who was looking through various books for spells.
His office was a whole mess. Books sprawled everywhere along with papers, broken glasses on the ground, medicine pot on his table with crushed herbs, which had spilt a little.
"I don't know. I can't seem to get a proper analysis on her state, whether it be physically or mentally," he let out, wetting his dry throat with water that he kept on forgetting, too caught up with the girl's health.
"There has not been a single sorcerer recorded in history to be in this condition. They heal within a few days but she hasn't woken up. It has been over a week, I don't know if we lost her to the void or--"
"Okay, calm down. Take a break, I'll send Ryuhee to watch her," Yeonjun interrupted, placing his hand softly on the latter's shoulder, who let out a tired sigh before nodding, leaving the room.
Yeonjun was left alone, watching the girl. Her body was still pale and cold, even though she was covered in four blankets. Ragged breathing left the slight parting between her blue-toned lips.
He sat down softly infront of her, sighing. He couldn't help but hear ringing noises, furrowing his brows ever so slightly as he watched the girl.

Areum furrowed her brows as her vision became blurry, blinking a couple of times before she saw the great wizard standing in front of her.
"Father!!" She called, a relieved smile on her lips. However, the wizard did not seem as enthusiastic. ".. Father, where am I...? What's going on???"
The great wizard sighed. "Areum, you're stuck in the void between reality and the spiritual world,"
"What?! But how is that possible??!" The daughter asked, taken aback in shock. ".. I'm afraid this is the price a sorceress has to take. Your spirit animal... Find it. And remember whatever you see next is just..."
His voice disappeared, the girl furrowing her brows as she saw him mouth a couple of words before a bright light blinded her vision.

The sound of a heart monitor could be heard as she opened her eyes to see she was saying down in a bed, a woman in a white coat standing beside her.
"Oh my goodness, doctor!! Doctor she's awake!!" The woman yelled as she ran out of the room.
Areum eyed the room, feeling something odd.
Something was completly off...
A man rushed in with the woman from earlier, taking out equipment she's never seen before. "What's your name??"
"Lee Areum??"
"Do you remember anything??"
"I..." She felt her head throb as the eiree ringing noises returned. "No..."
"Ms. Lee, you have been in a coma for the past three years after being involved in the car crash,"
".. What's a car??"
"We'll be examining you quickly and see if there are any side effects,"
As the two did their thing they explained to her how she got in a car accident while driving home from college.
She sat up in the hospital bed, looking out the window to see tall buildings and moving vechiles.
Areum looked down at her blank wrists, furrowing her brows as a ringing sound returned. "What happened to--"
"Areum-ah!!" An energetic voice called. His voice was oddly familiar, but his face sure wasn't. He had light brown hair, and wore casual clothing.
".. Who are you...?" The girl asked, the boy frowning. "How could you forget me..? I'm..." The voice became distorted as he tried to speak his name. ".. What??"
"Remember?? We're childhood friends. We're the same age... You used to call me the spelling police, remember??"
The female shook her head. ".. I'm sorry, no..."
"I-It's okay..."
They spoke together for a while. He was a 'college' student, though she wasn't so sure of what that meant. He was quite concerned, but quickly explain that it's the final years of education to get a proper degree.
After she listened to him explain to her how she and him used to hang out, playing games, pulling pranks, throwing birthday parties for each other and much more. As the male left she looked out the window to see the nightfall. She couldn't help but wonder...
".. Where's my family??"

In the dark stood a male wearing his hoodie up, walking in the rainy streets of the city, carrying a plastic bag as he walked out of the convenience store. A citizen bumped into him, turning to apologize to him as they ran off in rush.
The male looked up, his dark blue bangs covering half his eyes as he watched the running citizen before he looked up at the sky.
