So before I get a load of backlash, I will be backing my opinions up with facts.

Personally, I believe that the parents should be prosecuted for Maddie's disappearance because they should never have left the children alone whilst they went out.

I also believe that the parents, or one of them, could have accidentally killed Maddie because both parents are anaesthetists or doctors so I believe that they could have drugged Maddie but not the twins because Maddie wasn't sleeping and they needed her to sleep by the time they left. The parents overdosed Maddie accidentally and killed her in her sleep.

When Gerry went to "check on her" she was dead so he panicked and hid the body somewhere no one would search for her. Then when Matthew checked, but didn't really check, he saw the door ajar so did nothing about it. Then when Kate went to "check on her" again, Maddie was no where to be seen. Maybe Gerry McCann unlawfully murdered Madeleine and hid the secret as well as the body from his wife for all these years? Check interviews with Kate and Gerry and Kate always shows hurt and sadness but Gerry shows no emotion. Seems a bit guilty to me. Ironic how also both parents refused to answer police questions during interviews.
