Today was the day we ambushed the never seen. I grabbed all my weapons and slipped on some comfy clothes. I had some time before I had to leave, so I sat on my bed, thinking. Almost everyone knew we weren't going to win, but they still fought. Maybe we should just give up.

We lost. We barely made it out too. They had obviously been recruiting for a while, and we were outnumbered. So we had to retreat in the end. The last week had been horrible, but today was the worst. I was sitting face up on my bed. I got up, and walked to the bathroom. I picked up my razor, and turned it in my hand. I had promised everyone I would never do this again, but...... It looked so inviting. I told myself I needed this, as I tore apart the razor. After a minute, I was left with a shard of metal. I pulled up my sleeve and cut deep around my shoulder. I kept slashing and slashing, and watched the red blood run down my arm. My whole shoulder was covered in bleeding cuts. Immediately felt the satisfaction, the control it gave me. The blood was pooling on the counter, when I realized there was too much blood. I had cut too deep. It kept oozing, and I considered getting help. No. They would find out, they would know I have been cutting. I looked around for elixirs, and took several. But the bleeding wasn't stopping. I started panicking, then stopped. Maybe it was okay. Maybe I would finally be able to leave. To be peaceful. Even if that meant leaving. Then it all went blank. I woke up in a cot. Crap. A small part of me didn't want to wake up. I sat up and looked around. Elwin was at the other end of the room, searching for an elixir. Someone was in the cot next to me. Keefe. He was sleeping so peacefully, and I didn't want to wake him up, so I stayed quiet. Elwin turned around and looked at me. At first he seemed happy, then mad. Elwin started ranting, and woke keefe . He sat up, and turned to me. "Foster?"
