josh tosses two pairs of shoes into his bag, along with his jersey and a change of clothes for after his game. he slings his bag onto his back and grabs his headphones. the SLAM crew keeps the camera on him as he gets ready. josh holds up his airpod case and looks at the camera. "you already know what it is," he says, opening the case and putting the pods in his ears. "i'm wearing my oregon's today, but i brought kobe's too—you know, for backup." he says and exits his room.
"you ready, josh?" halona asks, purse and keys in hand. josh nods and starts walking to the front door to leave.
his father and brother follow him and they all go outside. "we're going to give you the camera to film in the car," the SLAM videographer says to josh.
"oh yuh! gup takeover—can you edit this to say '#guptakeover' right here?" josh says, holding out his hand palm up in the middle of the screen. the videographer nods and josh smiles at the camera.
"come on, joshua!" halona says from the driver seat. josh quickly makes his way over to their car and hops in the back.
"dad, say hi to the people."
"hi, people," laron says, turning around to face the camera and throwing up a peace sign. josh turns the camera to caleb and he just throws up a peace sign.
the drive to the gym is short, considering they live in california. josh just talks to the camera about basketball and the games they play today. his first game is against sharifes team and his second is against cassius'. "sharife is an easy dub, and sharife if you see this, i'm on you," he says, pointing at the camera.
halona shakes her head in the front seat and pulls into the parking lot at the gym. she finds a spot and they all get out, the SLAM van pulling in right next to them.
josh hands the camera to the videographer and the group walks into the gym. josh walks off while his family pays to get in, and he finds his team. "what's up, y'all?" he says, shaking up his teammates.
"gup!" kj yells, getting up and hugging josh. josh hugs him back and turns to the camera.
"this my oldest son right here, kenyon martin jr," josh slips his arm around his shoulders and points at kj. "talk to em!"
kj awkwardly throws up the 'rock and roll' symbol and introduces himself. "whats up yall, i'm kj," josh laughs and shakes his head.
"bro has dumb bounce, don't sleep," josh moves away from kj and takes a seat next to jalen. "y'all know jalen, his introduction is not necessary." josh says, pulling off his shoes and taking his oregon's out of his bag and starts getting ready for the game.
SLAM continues to film, pointing the camera at the fans and passerby's. they record josh with his friends and family since this is a 'day in the life' video.
what they don't catch (or notice) is shareef, summer, reagan, and nadia walk in. "he's over there," shareef says, able to look over everyon since he's almost seven feet tall. he nods in the direction of josh, and reagan sees the camera crew.
"i don't want to be on camera like that," reagan says, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear and biting her lip. the cameras are the exact reason she had a hard time with their relationship the first time. it's why they ended.
"i do!" nadia says, letting go of her sisters hand and running through the people to get to josh. if you thought shareef was her best friend, it's really josh.
nadia jumps on josh and screams in his ear. "JOSHIE!" she wraps her short arms around his neck and he holds onto her.
"hey, best friend!" he says, pulling her onto his lap. his three friends stroll over and shareef shakes him up.
