'College Shit' As Amy Would Say

Hey guys, heads up. I have no clue about college stuff so don't come at me if it's wrong.

"Y/N, come downstairs," Mom called.

As unenthusiastic as I was about college, I was happy that Amy, Noah, and I would all be going to the same one. And Stanford is a great college.

Hey guys. Just me popping in for a story of mine. So I visited California last summer and I went to Stanford and toured it. The campus is huge. It's like a mini city in there. We got lost because it was so damn big lmao. But anyways, that was irrelevant. Back to Y/N.

I hopped off my bed and went downstairs.

I was probably creepily smiling as I came down because Mom and Dad were all shooting weird looks at me.

But, Amy knew what was up. She shot a smirk at me and mouthed, "Love you."

I put my hand over my heart to show that I did too.

Mom looked at me and then at Amy and said, "Y'all are so weird."

I nodded. "We know, Mom."

Amy cleared her throat. "Anyways, Y/N and Aunt Y/M/N, we should get started on the college stuff."

I heard her mutter, "More like shit," under her breath and I tried not to snort.

I headed over to take a seat.

Mom put a paper in front of me and said, "Fill this out."

I looked at it.

It looked like some sort of contract that I needed to sign.

"Is this for college, Mom?", I asked, looking at her in confusion. "I thought I finished all the paperwork already..."

"No honey, this is a contract for me. You have to promise not to do the things that are on this list. Can you do that?" she asked, stern.

I took a quick glance at the list and I saw Amy look over my shoulder.

"Holy shit, that's a lot," Amy whispered in my ear. "Good luck baby girl, you're gonna need it," she continued.

I took a quick skim of the list and nothing too hard caught my eye.

"No drinking, okay, no smoking, okay, no drugs, that's fine," I thought to myself.

Then I saw what Amy was talking about.

"No all-nighters, no dating, no partying!" I accidentally said out loud.

I kept reading and it got worse as it went. "Mom, isn't this a bit much? I'm not a baby anymore," I whined, looking clearly upset.

My mom gave me a death glare and yelled, "Listen, I want you to be safe, so I don't want you going out and getting drunk or high, or worst case, having sex and getting pregnant!"

Amy stepped in, trying to save me. "Aunt Y/M/N, I think you should give her a little freedom, she is a grown girl now," she said, but Mom was too stubborn to listen.

"I'm telling you my rules and that's that! Sign it now, Y/N!," she said, gritting her teeth.

Not wanting to further frustrate Mom, I signed it and stormed to my room, Amy following right behind me.

"Listen Y/N, your mom is just protective of you, don't take it too seriously," Amy said sitting next to me on my bed where I was curled up into a ball.

"Plus, she isn't going to be at Stanford to monitor every step you take, I got you baby!" she reassured me.

I sighed, nodding my head at Amy. "I know but it's the fact that she doesn't trust me is what bothers me. Plus, she doesn't want me to date. What if she finds about Noah, Amy?" I said, looking back at her with a sad face.

Amy hugged me and we just sat there for a while, while I tried to leave whatever bothered me behind.

Hey guys. This update is long due, so I am really sorry for that. Special thanks to @QueenSarcasm13, my editor, best friend, cousin, and the person that Amy is based off of, for helping with and pretty much writing this chapter. She has given me a new perspective on the book and I hope you guys will continue to read it. XOXO!
