2012, the first Avengers movie:

As Fury and Dr. Selvig were talking about the energy of the tesseract, one of the agents computers senses movement in the cube. The building starts to rumble and the tesseract shoots out a beam, Nick Fury, Clint Barton, Dr. Selvig, and the others duck for protection. The other agents held up guns to the beam. The tesseract calmed down, and there he was, the god of mischief, Loki of Asgard. He smiled as he saw the people of Earth. He quickly zapped some the agents with his scepter, Loki's Scepter. As Loki introduced himself as Loki of Asgard, Dr. Selvig was quick to notice that he is the brother of Thor. As Barton was about to attack Loki, Loki put the tip of his scepter on Barton's chest which played mind-games on Barton by making him do whatever Loki tells him to do. He did the same thing to Dr. Selvig. While Loki was talking to Fury, Barton interrupted saying that the power of the tesseract is too strong and the whole building was gonna collapse. So Barton shot Fury, stole the tesseract, and they were on their way.
Loki, Selvig, and Barton were in the parking lot when they ran into Maria Hill. She noticed something was off and she asked "Hey, who's that guy?", referring to Loki. Then Hill got a message from Fury saying that Barton is being mind-controlled. Barton didn't say anything but Loki tried to zap her with the scepter, then they drove away. Hill got in a car and tried to chase after them. The building was starting to collapse. Phil Coulson started to gather everyone around and getting them in helicopters. Hill was too late and the building fell on top of her car and she wasn't able to stop Loki.

"So where is it gonna go?" Barton says
"Somewhere special...I'm bringing it to someone who needs it more." Loki says...
