Nathaniel's Obsession

"What do you mean we're staying?" Rosalyn asked taking a seat beside Nathaniel. It irked him that the man's eyes were following her.

"What don't you understand? You could go talk to your father if you don't want to stay?" Nathaniel said. He didn't bother to look at her.

Rosalyn glared at Nathaniel. She wondered what was up with him now. She noticed he had been talking to Bianca, the cousin who she didn't see eye to eye with. She placed her hand on his shoulder and she watched how he reluctantly brought his eyes to meet hers.

"You okay?" Rosalyn said looking at him in concern now.

Nathaniel nodded his head before looking away from her.

"Your friend's waiting for you," Nathaniel nudged his head in the direction of the man.

"Alex, I introduced you guys. We went to high school together," Rosalyn said a frown making its way to her face. Was he jealous? she thought to herself. Was he going to act this way every time she spoke to other guys?

Nathaniel didn't offer her any reply.
"I'll be right back," Rosalyn said leaning in to kiss his cheek. She left him there to see what Alex wanted.

"I guess I'll see soon I hope," Alex said to her smiling.

"I'm not sure when I'll be coming back," Rosalyn said. She didn't want to make any promises especially with the way Nathaniel was acting.

"No you chose to follow Alyssa," Alex said as he picked up his coat.

"You know I didn't follow her. I needed to leave her and we got accepted into the same program. You would have taken the offer too, Alex," Rosalyn said as they stood at the door.

"You're right. I miss you though and our little talks," Alex said. He was looking into her eyes smiling. There has been a time when his smile affected her.

"I miss you too. You should come to visit and see what it's like away from here," Rosalyn said making gestures with her hands.

"I'll take you up on that offer," Alex said before he suddenly leaned in as if he was going to kiss her. If she didn't turn her face away, he would have kissed her lips.

Rosalyn gasped when she realized Nathaniel was standing behind her. When did he get there? Her eyes shut momentarily when Nathaniel places his arm over her shoulder pulling her into his body.

"I guess I'll see you soon," Alex said to her. He gave Nathaniel a nod before he walked away from them. Rosalyn shut the door after him and turned to look at Nathaniel who was full-on glaring at her at this point. She opened her mouth to talk, but he stopped her.

"Shut the fuck up," Nathaniel hissed at her before he walked away and grabbed another beer. Rosalyn only walked away to see what her parents were up to. She was not going to put up with his jealous ass tonight, she would give him time to cool off. He had nothing to feel insecure about and she wondered why he didn't know it.

"Oh, darling! I'm sure you guys must be tired," Maria said when her daughter approached her. "Why do you have that frown on your face?"

"Nothing mom. I just came to see what you were doing," Rosalyn asked folding her arms across her chest.

"Where's Nathaniel?"

Rosalyn just nudged her head towards the house. It annoyed her to even speak about him now.

"Don't you think you should keep him some company? Most of the kids helped with clearing up," Maria suggested. She was putting all the empty trays in one stack.
