Nathaniel's Obsession

Nathaniel walked into the cottage. It was quiet, too quiet and he didn't just want to assume everyone was asleep. It was way past noon. He gently closed the door. He walked to the kitchen and grabbed himself a glass of water. Something about the drive up here always pissed him off and then the fact that Rosalyn thought she could ignore him.

"Nathaniel!," Grandma Linda called when she saw him. She walked to him and hugged him.

"I thought the plan was for me to have time with all of you," she continued.

"Yes, but something came up. We will need to leave now, I have important business to catch up on and I'm sure they would be angry if I left them," Nathaniel said as he grabbed a bottle of water.

"Okay, you do what you have to do," Grandma Linda said looking into his eyes. She looked as if she was trying to say something, but the meaning was hidden.

"Nathaniel!" Isobel walked to the kitchen and into her brother's arms. She was flustered at seeing him, as she pictured herself coming in this morning. Thank goodness, she came back together.

Nathaniel kissed her head before he spoke,
"How's Rafael?"

"Very grumpy. At least he's speaking to me now," Isobel said rolling her eyes. "Go and see him"

"Isobel, come over and help me get breakfast ready. I just invited Inez over," Grandma Linda said putting her phone and glasses on the table.

"You had your fill?" Rafael spoke after a moment of silence. He had just taken a shower and he was drying his hair when Nathaniel walked into his room.

"Look, Rafael, let's not speak about her," Nathaniel said. He was over this back and forth. He had decided that he would not hurt Rafael again.

Rafael only shrugged his shoulders before he spoke.
"What are we going to do now? Tell me you're not with Izzie on letting those bastards go for what they did to her,"

"You know me well enough. They will fucking pay in due time. Octavio will regret ever meeting our family," Nathaniel said with so much anger.

"We're leaving today. We have a lot of work to catch up on," Nathaniel continued. "You good?" He finally asked his brother. There was only a little bruising on his stomach now.

"Yeah, you?" Rafael nodded.

Nathaniel walked to the window. He opened it and then lit up a smoke. He took a long drag and his thoughts immediately went to the little vixen who was constantly pissing him off. He didn't need a distraction right now.

"Don't tell me you're letting her get to you. This is going to be like Emily all over again," Rafael said exasperatedly causing Nathaniel to glance his way.

"Do you just enjoy me beating the fuck out of you? What part of don't mention her don't you fucking understand?" Nathaniel said silently. The anger was very evident in his voice.

"Relax, you're tense," Rafael said. Honestly, he was not trying to cop another round from Nathaniel. "Grandma Linda said no smoking inside the house and this you're doing it in my room,"

Nathaniel only shook his head. He took two more long drags before he put it away. He needed to get her out of his system and fast. He needed to focus on his plan of bringing down the De Rosas.

"Let's go and see what they're up to. We need to leave," Nathaniel said walking out of the room. Rafael followed suit. His ears perked up at a familiar voice coming from the kitchen. He felt her presence even before he saw her.
