Ron, Harry, Hermione and Draco were all back in their hotel room. The four of them were lounging on the couches in their sweet, watching a show on the television. Draco changed the channel out of boredom and Ron straightened his posture as the news came on. "A startling storm will strike Mage tonight. Scientists predict it will probably be one of the worst we've had since Hurricane Albus. So, for the safety of our island, we advise you all to stay inside and keep warm. My name is Lylen Frey, and I'll see you next time with Your News. "Said the news anchor and Harry sighed. "I guess there won't be a beach party tonight. Too bad," he groaned and Hermione rolled her eyes. "If there's a storm, I'm sure we can find something to do," she reasoned and Draco perked up. "Actually, there is. My aunt Andromeda used to live here see. She hasn't sold her old house so she uses it as a vacation home when she comes to visit from Canada. I was thinking we go stay there instead. We don't have to pay at all," he said and Ron jumped up happily, punching his fist in the air. "I am so happy we invited you!" He said and Draco chuckled, rolling his eyes at the ginger. "So, how about we wait out the storm by packing?" Harry suggested and the three of them nodded before getting if the couch, walking into their respective rooms. Ron had seen pictures of the Malfoy vacation house. It was stunning and had the biggest garden and pool Ron had ever seen in a house that wasn't a mansion. He and Hermione packed their bags in silence. Ron couldn't describe the silence. He could tell Hermione was thinking hard about something but he couldn't figure out what. The way her nose scrunched up and her lips frowned meant she either didn't like something, or wasn't able to figure something out which happened pretty rarely. Ron's mind begrudgingly shifted from Hermione, to the day they had, to the dolphins and whales making short appearances near the cruise ship, to the Mer that appeared human, holding the gorgeous conch shell that Draco very much appreciated. Ah, the Mer. Blaise. Ron had refrained from thinking about the man since their last, unexpected meeting. It irked him to know that the creature had many other qualities then he thought. He started to get that chilling feeling again. The one he felt when he knew the Mer was watching him. But Ron looked around. He and Hermione were the only ones in their room. Their door was closed and the curtains were drawn, the ravenous wind howling outside, accompanied by the sound of raging, swaying trees as the storm got worse. Just stop thinking about him, Ron. It'll pass, he told himself but to no avail. Until Hermione announced that she was done and decided to make some tea and toast. Ron was left in the room alone and he didn't like that. The howling of the wind seemed to get louder and everything seemed more clear to him now that he was alone. Nothing to distract him from his thoughts. Needing some fresh air, he hesitantly drew the curtains and opened a window. He sighed in content as the fresh, crisp air lapped at his face harshly, causing small beads of tear drops to form at the corners of his eyes. Ron took a large breath in and let out a loud groan. Suddenly, a hot, rough tongue caressed his cheek and he shrieked, jumping back and away from the window.
"Bloody hell!" He gasped. The Mer, Blaise, was standing outside his window. A gentle yet forward look on his sculpted face. How the fuck did he get there?! We're six stories high!? Ron thought in amazement. "If you keep staring your face will get stuck like that, small human," he said and Ron didn't dare utter a word. He didn't know what to say and he honestly didn't want to talk. He gulped two large breaths of air before gaining the strength to speak again. "What are you d-doing here?" He asked and Blaise clambered into the room. "I didn't say you could come in!" Ron hissed suddenly but Blaise looked unamused. "I needed to see you," he replied nonchalantly and Ron scoffed. "You could've asked me first! Not break into my bloody hotel room!" He hissed again and the Mer raised an eyebrow. "You humans are odd," he said softly before chuckling. Damn, Ron forgot how deep and seductive his chuckle was. "Can you please leave," he sneered, his fear taking over his anger, making the command sound more like a whimper. "I heard you're moving some place else. Where?" The Mer asked and Ron stared at him dubiously. "How the fuck do you know that?!" He spat and the Mer, after minutes of staring at the window, turned to face him, his yellow eyes piercing Ron's very soul. "Where?" He persisted and Ron frowned. "Why should I tell you?" He asked and Blaise ran a hand down his face. "You're making this increasingly difficult, small human. Answer me." He said and Ron cowered. The way this voice rolled in that commanding tone shook his very core but he refused to give in. "I'll ask you again. Please leave," he said and he let out a strained and clipped gasp when his back was pushed into the bed, Blaise's face inches from his. The Mer sneered, showing off alarmingly sharp teeth and Ron vaguely smelt the smell of fresh blood. "Where?" The Mer repeated and Ron gulped, trying his hardest to push further into the bed. "My friend's vacation house! It's in Bright Bay!" He said quickly, shutting his eyes. "Look at me," the Mer demanded and Ron pursed his lips. He squeaked quietly when a low grown grumbled out of Blaise's throat and he quickly obeyed him, opening his eyes without meaning too. The wait of the Mer lifted off him. Ron sat up slightly, his elbows supporting him on the bed as he watched the Mer walk to the window. He climbed out and stared at Ron for a minute before speaking. "We'll see each other again, small human," he said before dissappearing with the loud crack of thunder, the brightness of the lightning outside making Ron's vision blur for a split second. He gulped. He felt like he could still feel the weight of the Mer's toned body against his, pushing him down into the bed.
He felt like he could still feel the tingling hot breath caressing his features, the low, deep growl that shook out of his throat. Suddenly, Hermione walked in and Ron sprang up. "Why's the window open?" She asked and Ron started at her, blinking slowly before coming up with an excuse that wasn't necessarily a lie. "I needed some air. Getting a bit clampy in here, you know what I mean?" He said and Hermione chuckled before closing the open window, drawing the curtains back.
We'll see each other again...
The sentence terrified Ron. But what scared troubled him to the maximum was how soon would they be crossing paths?
