I'm Alice Potter. Sometimes when I meet people, their eyes would widen at my name. It was only the people who always dressed a bit strangely that would be surprised. Alice isn't that weird of a name. I actually like it. After a while, I stopped going into town during the day. At night, nobody really payed attention to me. As long as nobody pays attention to me, nobody can take me.
My 'parents', as most people would call them, kicked me out of the house when I was 8. That's enough said, for now.
A cloud went over the moon, blinding me. I ran over to where the small tree house I had found was. Nobody ever came there, so I made it my home. I drew a small birthday cake in the dust, and blew out the candles.
"Happy birthday, Alice." I whispered to myself.
I soon fell asleep.

My eyes burst open to a knocking sound. Someone was at my home, trying to get in, trying to get me. I started to panic. Nobody had been here for 3 years! Why are they here now?
"Alice?" A voice said from behind the wall. "I know your in there. Im not here to hurt you, I'm here to deliver your acceptance letter to Hogwarts."
"H- how do you know my name?" I stuttered.
"Because, everyone knows your name. Well- everyone in the wizard world at least."
"Who are you?" My confidence started to grow in my voice.
"I'm Professor Dumbledore. I am the headmaster of Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please come outside so we don't have to have this conversation with a wall between us."
"Witchcraft? Are you insane? That kind of stuff doesn't exist!" I shouted. My hand wandered the tiny room, looking for a weapon, anything sharp actually, to protect me.
"Alice. I told you, I'm not here to hurt you." He repeated.
Something about this man made me want to trust him. I am not a very trusting person though, so I decided to give him a chance. I hesitantly pushed the door open, and burst out laughing at what the man was wearing.
He was wearing long blue robes and these weird shoes. What. The. Hell.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA OH MY GOD! Oh my god." This was the funniest thing I have ever seen.
"Alice, you look just like your mother." He smiled at me, ignoring the fact that I was laughing at him.
My head snapped up. I was silent.
"I look nothing like my mother." I glared, moving to the back of my home. My mom had dark long curls that rested on her shoulder, and had grey eyes. She was tall. I, on the other hand, had long, straight sun-kissed red hair and soft
brown eyes.Dumbledore started to chuckle. "Oh that's right. You don't know yet."
My eyebrows furrowed together. "Know what?"
He grabbed my arm, and I felt like I needed to vomit.
