Diagon Alley

I fell to the ground, about to puke my insides out.

"Ugh. So much for not hurting me!" I groaned. I peeked one eye open to see where Dumbledore had taken me. I was in a tiny space outside. To my left there was a black, beaten down door. To my right, there was a brick wall.

"Sorry about that. You needed to know that magic exists before I brought you to Diagon Alley." He chuckled, lending me and hand so I could stand.

I ignored his help and pushed myself of the ground and to my feet.

"Okay okay, I believe you. What's Diagon Alley anyways. A prison?" I asked.

"No actually, it's a place where you can get supplies for Hogwarts. Of course there are other reasons for going, but that is yours." The old man walked over to the brick wall.

"Um sir? The door is on the other wall." I told him, keeping back my laughter. The old man doesn't even know where the door is.

"Oh I know Alice. Unless you want to leave Diagon Alley, you go to the brick wall." Dumbledore grabbed a carved stick- a wand out of his pocket and tapped some bricks in some sort of pattern.

Suddenly the bricks moved apart, making a doorway.

"Woah!" I gasped. Diagon Alley was huge. There were shops everywhere. And people! All dressed in funny clothes. I turned to Dumbledore. "Where to first?"

"Gringotts. The wizard bank. It's where you will get your money." He started to walk down the cobblestone path, towards a humongous white building.

"But sir!" I ran after him, trying to catch up. Man, I never knew people that old could be so fast. "I don't have any money."

He stopped to look at me "But your parents do." His eyes were twinkling. Then he turned around and kept walking.

My parents were- are wizards? No, that can't be possible. I would have known, hey would have told me. I wouldn't be alone if they were wizards. Maybe they didn't think I was a witch, and that's why they kicked me out. Were my parents afraid of what people would thinly? Am I-

"We're here." Dumbledore announced, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I stepped into Gringotts, all questions left my mind. The place was beautiful. Tall white columns with writing on them. Gold lining was everywhere. It was like heaven. Then I looked at who was behind the counter.

"Goblins," Dumbledore said. He must have seen the horrified look on my face, "Nasty creatures. But very smart. They run Gringotts."

I nodded, and slowly approached the goblin in front of me, Dumbledore followed.

"Yes?" The goblin dragged on his words. It didn't sound like he wanted to be there.

"We are here to take some money out of Ms. Potter's vault." Dumbledore said from behind me.

The goblin looked startled, then nodded. "Griphook! There's another Potter waiting!"

A smaller goblin came running over. "This way. Follow me!" He ordered and walked away.

I gave Dumbledore a look, and followed the goblin.

The cart ride to the vault was crazy wicked! It was really dark, except for the tiny lantern, and everything was so fast. I was really upset when it was over, but then I realized we had to get back to Diagon Alley somehow. Dumbledore looked a little green though.

After Gringotts Dumbledore took me to get my school supplies. When we had to get our uniform, I was disgusted at the fact that we had to wear skirts. After about 10 minutes I finally convinced Dumbledore and the lady working to let me wear black leggings. It's still kinda girly, but not skirts. At Flourish and Blotts, a book caught my eye. It was titled; Harry and Alice Potter. Of course I wanted to go and check it out, but Dumbledore wouldn't let me anywhere near it. I want to know why my name is on a book, and who is Harry Potter?
