The Eighth Sin (Meliodas X Reader)

||Chapter 11|| ||Forgiveness comes at the worst times||

(Sorry I've been missing for so long. Life is getting harder and I'm just struggling to make time to write :( I'm trying my best. I'll talk about it more at the end. Onto the chapter!)

~Meliodas's P.O.V~

"(Y/N)!!!" I screamed.

I saw her turn back into her normal self and fall to the ground bleeding. I went to her but I was in electric binds. Diane was too... Please be okay... I don't quite remember it all. It happened so fast. I remember breaking the binds and tricking Gilthunder into telling me the locations of the others and then next thing I know I have (Y/N) in my arms.

"Meliodas?" She said.

"Are you okay?!" I said.

"Of course." she said as she got out of my arms.

She shakily stood up with blood dripping off her clothes. I was concerned but I knew I was gonna get nowhere if I pushed it. But in my mind, I knew something was wrong. All of a sudden she caught the spear of Gilthunder who had come back for round two. She grabbed him by the throat and smacked him against a tree. He coughed up blood. I knew something was wrong... I KNEW IT!!! This was (Y/N) but it wasn't (Y/N). He stabbed her multiple times but it was like she wasn't affected. It was like this was no longer (Y/N)... It was like no one was there at all... He fought back as hard as he could but she overcame him. Before he left he uttered something that reminded me of the past...

"I am now stronger than any of The Seven Deadly Sins-" He said before Diane threw him out of the forest.

(Y/N) turned around to face me and smiled but it wasn't her smile. It was a hollow smile as if there was no emotion behind it. She began to walk and continued until we got back to the Tavern. We started to head to the location of... Ban? Yeah. We stood on top of Mama Hawk while Diane walked alongside us.

"You sure you're okay, (Y/N)?" I said.

She nodded and replied.

"Just tired. I'm gonna get some rest. Night." And she walked inside.

"Captain, she is weird." Diane said.

"Yeah... But that's what makes her (Y/N)!" I grinned.

"She wouldn't be happy to know you called her weird." Hawk said from behind me.

I just shrugged.

"You think she's undressing right now?" I said.

"Meliodas!" Hawk yelled.

"What? It was just a question-" I said.

"That's a weird thing to ask!"

"She does have a nice chest though."

"Meliodas, you should check on her."

"NO, HE'LL DO PERVERTED THINGS TO HER!" Diane yelled.

"I won't touch her..." I said.

"That much." I mumbled.

I walked into the tavern and knocked on the door.

"(Y/N)?" I questioned.

When I heard no response I thought she might be asleep so I opened the door to find her laying on the floor. Her blood soaked clothing was dripping and her blood made a pool on the floor that seemed to be draining into the boards. I rushed to her and picked her up. She was cold and wet. She was unresponsive so I put my finger to her neck. I barely felt a pulse... I rushed outside with her in my arms.

"Diane! Meet me in the nearest town. (Y/N) needs immediate medical attention!" I yelled as I ran to the nearest town.

"Is sh-" I was too far away to hear her finish her sentence.

"(Y/N), you're gonna be okay! Just hold on! I'll find someone to help you!" I cried.

~3rd person's P.O.V.~

He hastily rushed through town looking for a doctor but one could not be found. Her blood stained his clothes but he continued to run and beg for someone who could help her. All of a sudden a man called out to Meliodas.

"Hello." Said the man.

Meliodas did not hesitate to run to him.

"I am a doctor. Bring her inside." The man said while opening the door.

Meliodas ran in and followed the man to a room where he set (Y/N) on the bed. She was motionless and silent. He got flashbacks of those days. They days when he lost (Y/N) again and again. As tears ran down his face he blamed himself for all the pain she has gone through.

"If I hadn't left her alone... She would be okay... She would always be okay." He thought.

Her body was cold and he watched as the doctor poured a drink down (Y/N)'s throat.

"I'm Dr. Dana." He said.

Meliodas did not look up but instead sighed.

"What happened to this girl? These wounds are... Well... They should have been fatal. It's a miracle she is still alive." The doctor said.

"Is she in pain?" Meliodas asked.

"Of course not. What I gave her was something to stop her suffering and she will be at peace." The doctor said.

"Will be at peace? What does th-" Meliodas was interrupted by the doctor.

"Oh, dear. I forgot something." He said as he ran out.

Meliodas sighed and interlocked his fingers with (Y/N)'s. Diane was outside sitting on the ground clearly worried
Hawk strutted into the room and looked at her before turning to Meliodas.

"Geez, she's so motionless... She looks dead!" Hawk said.

Meliodas's eyes widened in horror at Hawk's words.

"N-No! She's gonna be fine." Meliodas blurted out.

Doctor Dana walked back in solemnly.

"Quite the opposite. Your pig friend is correct." He said.

"What have you done?!" Meliodas shouted.

"The medicine was actually a deadly poison made from Wolfsbane, Belladonna, Tiger Beetle, Henbane Leaf... (Y/N) is dead." Doctor Dana said.

Meliodas quickly became enraged and was about to lunge at the Doctor.

"It was for Sennett..." He mumbled.

All of a sudden a voice come from the shadows.

"You did well, Doctor." The voice said.

"Who are you?" Hawk said frightened.

An armoured knight appeared next to (Y/N) and grabbed her wrist moving seemingly lifeless body. "That does not matter. But I'll be taking the girl now."

Meliodas turned his attention to the knight and the knight trembled from his gaze. But let out a laugh after a bit.

"Hah, no pulse." The knight said.

Meliodas was about to attack. But (Y/N) sat up and glared at the knight. The knight saw her look and immediately let go and disappeared. With one last smile at Meliodas she fell back onto the bed. Dead... (Y/N) (L/N) was actually dead.

(Sorry, Reader. You died. Big ole wasted right there. At least you died peacefully! Anyway, explanation time. I went on a trip for a couple weeks that really fucked with my mental health so I took a much needed break. And I know she follows me and will probably see this chapter but my girlfriend broke up with me... And that really hit me hard... But I have returned and hopefully I shall get a schedule down but I have school and/or work starting in 8 days so that fucks with shit. But I promise to return and do my best to write when I can. I love you all so much and I'm sorry for the delay.)
