Okay so here is what I managed to scrap up for chapter seventeen, I lost the proper one I wrote so this isn't as good as it could have been, but I hope you like it :)

It's short as I decided to just write half of the chapter instead of making you wait longer for the rest, so forgiveness is needed please!! ;)

The italics in this are flash backs to when Jay is talking to his dad about pulling back his statement; remember I missed that out in the other chapter? This is why!! :)

Prepare for drama!!!

“What is it?” I asked, watching her carefully.

Lily was staring out at the black waves, the moon reflecting silver on them, she looked heart broken, almost hypnotized by them.

“Lily?” I pressed when she remained silent.

“You have to understand Jay, I didn’t mean it.” She whispered.

I nod; of course I would understand; how could I not?

“Tell me.” I say with a small smile, trying to relax her, make her know that she could tell me anything and I wouldn’t judge her.

“You can’t trust her Jason, I know it’s hard to believe but I know her.” My dad said when I asked him to pull back his statement.

“Yes, of course you know her; you defended her mother’s murderer!” I retorted.

“I was so scared.” Her voice was low; it reminded me of a frightened child telling her parents the truth about who really broke the expensive vase on the coffee table. “I tried to tell her what Mark was doing, but she was too blinded by love.” She closed her eyes and a tear slid down her cheek, which she didn’t try to wipe away.

We docked quietly on Ana Isle, I took Lily’s hand and pulled her to the edge of the boat, “Wait there, we’ll go sit down and you can tell me the rest.” I say to her, squeezing her hand, trying to comfort her slightly.

She nodded and followed me down the steps onto the docking bay.

“Come on.” I lead her over to the hammock hanging between two palm trees on the beach edge, lit up by the solar lights that were scattered around the beach.

She sits down first then I fit in beside her, pulling her close to me and slipping my arm around her shoulders.

“Okay, carry on.”  I say.

"I felt like I had lost my mind... one second I was there, and the next I was watching myself. Sometimes I like to think it didn't happen, but I know it did, there's no running away from insanity."

“Please Jason, don’t think I’m defending him like that, what he did to her was wrong, yes, but she lost her self through the torment, and I don’t think she ever found the missing pieces again.” My dad spoke quietly.

“What are you talking about?” I rolled my eyes.

“I was so sick of him, the way he controlled everything, everyone.” Her voice had lowered, she didn’t sound like herself.

“What did you do?” I asked, afraid of her answer.

“I tried to tell her, but she wouldn’t listen.” She repeated.

“I visited her a few times; she was an empty shell for a while.” My dad said.

“Dad, she was abused her whole childhood and her mother was murdered, of course she wasn’t herself.” I started to rant, and then remembered what he said. “Visited her where?”
