VIII: Busted

"Andrei, do you not recognise me?"

As she asked me that, I stood there feeling pressured. I looked at her worried and asked

"How... do you know my name?"

As I asked that she looked down on the ground and blushed, as if she was shy or maybe she was expecting something else for an answer. Her friend interrupted and said,

"Hi, I'm Patricia. Sorry to interrupt but, she kinda had a photo with you last year also and you both exchanged names. Ever since then she's been spouting some stuff saying that she likes yo..."

Samantha stopped her and said,

"Patricia shut up..... it.... it's embarrassing..."

"What? I thought you finally wanted to tell him since you were the one who insisted going to him."

Patricia answered back to her.

"ANDREI!! We're going, hurry up."

Coach shouted in the background as I said my farewell to both of them.

"Well, sorry but I need to go now. It's nice meeting you both. Bye!"

I left as I waived goodbye to both of them. I thought to myself while running to my teams direction.

"For a second there... I thought she was..... never mind. Maybe it was someone else"

I looked back and Samantha was crying. But.... she was smiling.

I finally caught up to my team and finally we boarded the School shuttle. Coach entered last and said.

"When we drop off at school, I want to have a word with everybody."

Oh no... Coach is pissed 'cause we lost. We're gonna be expecting some punishment after this. We finally left STA and headed back to school. When we reached our destination all of us headed out of the bus and thanked Randolph the school driver. We gathered in front of Coach. He turned to us with this scary face he usually does. He then said,

"Today's match.... we lost...."

We looked down to the ground, looking all worried and stuff. We disappointed coach again.

"But I never expected that we can challenge them head on. At First I thought that we were gonna lose by 10 points maybe more considering who we just fought against. But It wasn't, you boys have shown guts and I'm proud of you for that. For the past few years, our team never stood a chance against their team."

We all looked up to coach, as he was about to finish what he was saying.

"This team has finally shown the fruits of their labor. All of you have improved for the past few days. The teams spirit seems to have heightened, and your teamwork has gotten better. All thanks to 1 player.."

He turned to my direction and continued saying,

"Thank you Andrei, for bringing the team into this state. I'm sorry if I haven't given you much attention in training before. But with your exemplary improvement and coordination with the team we'll finally be able to go against top tier teams."

Max looked very frustrated when Coach praised me.

"Well I guess that's all now. Thank you for today you guys have done so well now, you all go get some rest and enjoy your weekend."

We all headed home after coach's speech. I arrived home and as I opened the door mom and dad was waiting right there, like literally in front of the door. I got surprised and accidentally cussed in front of them saying
