1000 years later*
The sun was rising creating an orange hue all over the city. Sound of screams and crying was everywhere.
"Please...Not him!!" A woman said through tears."He is my child. He is soo small...please leave him behind"
"We can't do that mam. Please don't make us use force" the guard said.
"AM I NOT ENOUGH?! Why do you have to take him. Let him stay please" The woman said.
"You will meet him again. Don't make it difficult for us." The guard said.
"HOW CAN I MEET HIM AGAIN IF HE WILL BE EATEN BY THE DRAGON" she screamed. Without another word the guard pushed the women and the boy into the line.
The guards were all the same. Wearing the same black suit and all emotionless. Sending people to their death all these years had made them numb.
This is something which happened in the city every week. A "tribute" they called it. A train full of people was sent every week to the dragon who lived behind a mountain away from the city. The mountain was barely visible from the city but people always saw glimpses of the dragon who seemed to be bigger than the mountain. They knew it was real. They knew they will die. They knew they will be eaten. Alive.
But this did not ease the pain of seperation they felt.
"The Lunchbox". This is what the train was called. This is what took them to their doom.

Flashback*"Let us make a deal" The king of the town said.
"What deal are you talking about. Who are you to make a deal with a superior being like me?!!" The dragon growled.
"It is a deal that will benefit you, My Lord"the king said. The use of this name delighted the Dragon.
"No deal can save you. I am hungry. Very hungry. I am going to eat you all tonight"
"But my lord, the most supreme and powerful being ever. Please can you listen to my, a worthless human's deal?" Said the king.
The dragon was falttered. "What is it? What's your deal?" It said.
"If you eat all of us tonight, you will become hungry again after sometime. Then you would have to go and find food again my lord. Insted we can send some of us to you every month to be eaten. It will keep us alive to be your food every year and not just tonight my lord. It will benefit you only" the king said.
The dragon smiled showing its sharp teeth"Well said. I never expected such a thing to come out of a worthless human's mouth. It's done then. I will live behind that tall mountain to the east. Send me my food, but it will be every week and you will be saved. If you fail even once, I will destroy you all"
"Thank you, my lord" the king said.
"Do not ever try to outwit me. If you think that you can get rid of me in a century, you should know that Dragons live for 5 thousand years, and i am just 500 years old"
"I know that my lord. You will not have any problem"
__________
Present Day*
People proceeded to the town hall. All with heads hanging low. Some were wailing, others silent. Ready to die. This is where they will board the train to the mountain.
All of them sat in the train which was painted red. Was this color chosen to show the anger of the people, or hide the stains of blood when it came back? No one knew.
The train moved forward. With every passing second it came closer to the mountain. People could now see the mountain which held death for them.
After an hour, the train arrived at its destination. The train drivers got out. Everything was silent. People could see the large figure of the dragon, its head not even visible through the clouds.
A large hand with sharp claws came out of the clouds and it picked up the train in its hands. "The Lunchbox" it was called so because the top of the train could be flipped open just like a box.
The whole train shook as it was brought up, passengers saying their last prayers.
The dragon opened the top with one of its claws, as it tilted it to eat all of the people inside before putting the train back on the track. The drivers climbed back in.
The train started its return journey as the dragon's hand disappeared it the clouds.
