When we finally reach the warehouse, I already feel a hypnotic force pull on me. This should be interesting.
Before I walk in any further, I grab Chase's hand. He looks at me, but I don't look back at him. I don't want to see his disappointed expression. We walk to the center of the warehouse, holding hands. Tight. Suddenly, I see a shadow of a chair and someone sitting in it. I slowly advance towards the dark shadow under the balcony of stairs to see him.
My brother.
He looks miserable. I tap his shoulder from behind and he winces.
"Please don't!" He shrieks, full of terror.
"Alex, it's Jamie. Your sister." I say, putting myself in his veiw. His eyes madden with worry.
"Run. Don't stay here. They'll hurt you, too." He says, nearly petrified.
"I'm here to take your place. Where is Jackson?" I ask with a strained voice. It's hard for me to talk when I have all of these emotions swirling around. Fear, disgust, sympathy. It's awful.
"No. They already destroyed me enough. I'm as good as dead. I've done so many horrible things to innocent people. I'm a monster!" I can see the tears dripping from his lunatic eyes, streaming down his cheeks.
"No, Alex. That wasn't you. They made you do those things. It's not really your fault." I say.
"You don't know what I did! You need to leave before I kill you, too!" He looks insane.
"You're not going to kill me, Alex." I say, assuringly.
"Jamie, I don't know what's happening. I love doing evil things while I'm doing them, but then when they show me what I've done, I feel like I can't live with myself. But I do it anyways. And every time I see someone, I want to kill them. You're lucky I'm tied up. Because I think I might kill myself if I ever killed you." He says, getting tense.
"Alex I'm going to get you out. Don't wor-" Alex's eyes slowly darken like he's falling asleep. "Alex?" I say, gently shaking him. He continues to fade out until his head falls forward and he's unconcious. This is bad. I have to act before it gets any worse.
"Alright Jackson! It's time for the switcheroo now! Let him go! I surrender!" I don't know where he is, so I just yell my words into the sky. I throw my arms up in surrender and wait for his reply. I hear him talk, but his voice surrounds me and I'm not sure where he is.
"Jamie, darling! I'm glad you got to see your brother! Isn't it amazing that just a small shot, could give us the power to make him go unconscious and back to life again? It can also make you evil, and nice with a snap of my finger. It's pretty amazing I think." He says.
"Where are you?" I say.
"Don't you see? I'm right in front of you. Or right behind you. Or all around you." He laughs and takes a step forward and now I can see him. It's such a dark warehouse except for the few lights around Alex. There are windows in the building, but it's night time. The stars seem to glow into the skylights, making the warehouse seem like a deathly twilight zone.
"What did you do to him?! You said he would go home. My dad will go bananas when he sees what kind of mental state he's in!" I yell.
"Jamie, calm down. It will ware off eventually. He's just freaked out because he loved killing a group of Sorins. He should be over it in a few years." Jackson obviously isn't worried. He's satisfied.
"Years?! You're crazier than him! How can you live with yourself? Alex said he's a monster now, but I think we both know who the evil monster really is." I say with a cruel tone.
"Ouch. Jamie, if you're going to work for me, I suggest you lay off the haterade and be nice to me like I am to you and your family." He says, very relaxed. Now he's set me off.
"Me and my family, huh? Let's see, you tortured my brother so much that he wants to commit suicide, you messed me up by throwing what I now know as confuser gas at me, and you messed up your own brother by making me leave him! If anything, you've been the opposite of nice to me and my loved ones and I will never love working for you." I say, extremely frustrated.
"You will. You will love working for me. I can garentee you that. Soon you'll be falling for me more than anyone else. You will do anything and everything for me. Until I kill you. I have power over you, Jamie. Don't make me use it." He says with an evil smirk.
"I won't. No matter what you do to me. You can torture me, hypnotize me, and inject shots into my arms and neck, but I will always know deep in my heart that you're nothing but an evil monster that deserves to die! You will never truly control me!" I yell.
"Jamie, he's controlling you as we speak. He's testing your emotions. You need to calm down." Says Chase, very calmly. That's all I've heard from him since we got here. Jackson just laughs.
"Chase, my dear brother. How are you?" He asks.
"How am I? Let me think. You destroyed Alex, you decided to torture humans for your own enjoyment, and took the person I love most. Yeah, I'm doing great." He says in an utterly sarcastic tone.
"I'm glad your doing well." Replies Jackson. What an evil being he is. I wish I could punch him right in the nose.
"Just let my brother go, take me, and let's get this torturing over with." I say. I'm done with this madness. And I might go bonkers without a needle to the arm. I'm already so insanely upset that I might kill Jackson if he says another word from his evil mouth.
"Alright, that chair right there is for you. I reserved it just for my sweetheart." He says with a smirk.
"Okay, just give me a few seconds." I say. I turn to Chase. He looks so upset. I will never let Jackson see me cry. I can't give him that satisfaction. So I hold back all of my tears as best I can, and look at Chase.
"I'm going to miss you, Chase. Thank you for everything you've given and done for me. Especially that sandwich on the first day I met you." I say with a smile.
"I'm going to miss you too, Jamie. Try not to forget me when your working for my brother alright? And the sandwiches are my favorite, too." He laughs and cries at the same time. I hug him. His hug is so warm and sweet. I know we have been hugging for a while, but neither of us want to let go. We could just stay like this forever. If it wasn't for all the evil. Every time I want to let go, my mind just says, just a few more seconds... and I gladly hold on longer.
"Aww, you happy couple take long hugs huh? Too bad for you. I'm pulling you two apart. Poor things. But relationships have to end at some point. Unfortunately, this one ends a little soon. Get in the seat." He says abruptly.
"I love you." Chase whispers, right before we pull away. I walk toward the empty, metal looking seat.
"Jackson, please don't do this. I love her. Please don't take her away. You'll never take over the world anyways. Just let them both go." Chase says, pleadingly.
"No! I've gone too far into my plan to let them both go. Besides, nothing is in it for me." Says Jackson.
"I wasn't finished..." Chase looks at his brother with hatred, "take me instead."
"Oh, Chase. You've come to your senses! If you can't beat me, join me, right? But unfortunately, I know that you're too good at hypnotizing me for me to want to mess with you. Besides, you and Jamie weren't meant to be. Don't you remember what we've always told you? All girls are simply just to good for you. And I have to kill someone. Why not let it torture more than just her?" He asks. This switches something in Chase. He gives a scream of frustration and tackles his brother.
"How dare you! Jamie is the best thing that ever happened to me! You're so evil!" He yells. He punches his brother in the face over and over and over again, and when Jackson finally pushes him off, Jackson coughs up blood.
"Oh, Chase. Don't you see?! You're even worse than me. You're a Morrison. You will always be a Morrison. You're not any better than me! I know what you do in your secret place! I have cameras! You hypnotize so many people that you have an army! Jamie doesn't really love you, you hypnotized her! And now she's tricked you into being a fool! You're just like us. You're such an evil trickster that you stopped your own girlfriend from saving her brother! Now she has to pay! You caused all of this! Do you see this blood on my face? This is all because of you!" Yells Jackson. Chase thinks for a moment then steps back and away from Jackson. He moves back until he bumps into a chair and he falls to the ground but doesn't stand. Chase looks terrified of himself.
"Im...I'm so sorry. I'm just--"
"You're just you. Your a Morrison, Chase. Just embrace it." Jackson says. He's hypnotizing Chase. I can tell.
"Chase, don't listen to him." I say, trying to help. I want to hug him but I'm already locked in the seat. I try to speak again, but I feel a sting in my forearm. I look down, and I'm horrified. It's the same shot that was injected into my brother. I will soon be just like Alex. Miserable, insane, and deadly.
"Chase, this is from the real me. I will always love you, nobody else but you and my family. Remember that." I say. I'm changing my thoughts. Fast. Chase runs over to me, but it's too late. He shakes me, hard.
"Jamie! I love you! Try to remember who really cares for you! I hate you!" He says in an evil voice. Why would he say he hates me? I can't believe him. I thought he loved me. I start breathing heavily, like my brother. I'm not sure if I just got the words love and hate mixed up, or if he really did say he hated me. But I'm too out of it to think about it for long. Suddenly, I can't focus. I'm on edge between hatred and love. I want to kill. I'm meant to kill...
