Authors note:
Hey guys, thanks for even clicking on this book, I hope that you'll enjoy this story ^_^ also this is my first story so feel free to tell me where to improve and fix errors
//Sighing in content, I spread my arms out on my front lawn and lay back, feeling the soft prickles of grass poking the sides of my legs and arms. The suns warm and luminous rays hit my body, making me feel as though I had an invisible blanket unknowingly wrapped around me. I should be embarrassed but there's barely any cars that go past this road anyways, and plus, the tenants here are all over 65.
Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Rosa Min, and I'm 17 years old. Just like my father, I have dark brown hair which is as curly as a spring, along with my mothers greyish/green eyes. As you may have thought, yes I am boring and plain but hey, who do I have to impress?
In school, you'd barely even notice me, but I'm definitely not complaining. I'd rather stay at home all day, locked in my room, and painting for hours on end. But unfortunately, the world doesn't work that way, and I have to actually get ready and go to school aka hell.
Damn, that sounded too cliché didn't it? I'm sorry, I've read too many romance novels and it seems to be getting out of hand-Anyways, it's a Saturday and I've got nothing to do, hence the reason I'm currently sprawled out in my front garden looking like a lunatic. My mom is inside cooking something, and I must say, it smells amazing.
I have no idea why she's making food this early in the morning though, it's only 3pm.
Dad was called out on duty once again and will probably be back by 5. If you haven't guessed, he works as a police officer, and I barely see him at home, except for Friday's which is his free day off.So yes, that leaves me, an only child, to be bored at home. I'm not in the mood to draw or paint either, so I decide to pester my mother.
"Mooom, why are you making food so early?" I drag out as I walk into the kitchen and stand behind the island.
"Oh, I forgot to mention it to you earlier darling, must have slipped my mind, but we're having guests over tonight so be ready for 7pm!"
"What do you mean guests? We never have anyone over" I reply confused.
I mean we do live in a neighbourhood that is full of elderly people.
"Did you not see the new tenants that moved into the house opposite us yesterday? They're a family of 3 just like us, and I met Mrs Kim this morning as she was giving out cupcakes" she says excitedly
Groaning, I realise that I'm going to have to socialise today, and what's worse is that I don't even know these people. I trudge upstairs with a frown on my face and plop (not so gently may I add) onto my bed whilst I stare at my ceiling and eventually fall asleep.
*3 hours later*
It's 6pm and I've literally done nothing productive today. Just been staring at my ceiling in boredom and somehow fell asleep. The only reason I'm awake right now is because my mom came barging into my room screeching like a bird at me to get ready before the Kims come over.
Oh yes, I forgot that we were having guests over today, my bad.
Yeh, she was not happy that I had fallen asleep, especially since I should've been helping out with the cleaning. Woopsie-
"Young lady, if you are not ready within half an hour, I'm going to confiscate your art supplies" she threatens me
That's what actually gets me off my arse, as I scramble to grab the clothes she was holding and shove myself into the bathroom.
You see, I can't live without my art supplies since they are my life. I could live without my phone, but definitely not my paints.
Luckily I get out of the shower in 10, dry my hair in 20, and shove the light blue dress my mom had given me down my neck in time before the clock hit 7.
I slip on my home slippers since I'm not going out anywhere, and make my way down the stairs, definitely not looking forward to socialising.
// That's the end of the chapter, I swear I'm so bored.
