chapter 17

                       -tendou pov-

i was confused. we were back in school now. spring break passed. i walked thru the hallway, bag in hand a smile on my face. i rushed over to the gym for practice. rezume was there, watching ushijima play whille he waited for me beucase i was about 3 minutes late.  i shuffled past her barly being able to get into my gym wear. 

"hey tendou!" she said smiling wide.

i ignored her. insted of acknowledging her existence i pretend like i didnt hear her .

"Tendou! TENDOU!!" She continued.

But this time I had got my shirt on.

"WHAT?!"  I shout back at her

"I-i just wanted to talk to you after you get done with practice"

"Oh.. Sorry. I'm just a little nervous".

"For what?" She asked

"I don't know...." 

"Oh. Well don't forget. Me. You. After gym!" She said before hopping away to go to her tennis court.

"Ok." I said watching her as she ran off.

I walked in to gym. It was average practise nothing to special. Half way thru however I heard some one walk up behind me while I was drinking water.

I turned around "yes?"

"Tendou. You heard me" she said a bit sad.

"Yea I did. What at you doing here?"

"My practise was cut short due to rain." She said

"Well don't catch a cold." I handed her my jacket "here use this"

"Th-thank you!" She said blushing as she put it on.

"No problem"

I walked over to ushijima. We continued messing around and playing. We ended up getting into a play fight that was broken up by semi.

At the end of practise me and ushijima started walking together. Half way thru I remered rezume.

"WAKATOSHI-KUN!I FORGOT SOMETHING! MEET YOU BACK AT THE HOUSE!" I shout as I ran

"Ok.?" I heard him say before walking away.

I started walking to the gym. Rezume was standing there looking like she was gonna cry. The got out her umbrella and started walking her bike to her house

"WEAR YA GOING?!" I shout at her.

"You came!!" She clapped before getting out a note. "I have something for you.." she said looking at the note.

"Oh is it a treasure map?" I asked. When we were little we would play pirates. Me, rezume, and wakatoshi-kun. I would imagine that she wanted to bring back childhood.

"N-no it's not" she hand me the note. In fancy writing it read

"Dear tendou satori, I have always had a crush on you. You make me laugh. You make me smile. You make my time on earth worth while. Hehe that rimed. All I ask of you, Is you're feelings. Now hand 'em over >:) . That was a joke. If you haven't got the message, here it is, I love you." Then she drew us sitting under a rainbow.

"I-i.."

"I know you don't like to take things to seriously, so I tried to keep it light hearted..heh.."

"Can I tell you tomorrow? Or latter tonight"I wrote my phone number down. " I don't have an answer right now."

"Oh. Sure!" She said taking the paper.

"Yea"

We walked by each other making small talk. Up until it started raining. And she left her umbrella by the gym. We had to part ways also.

"OH NOO!!" She screamed "MY PARENTS ARE GONNA KILL ME!" she shout.

"TAKE THIS! DON'T CATCH COLD!" I gave her my jacket before running off.

"THANK YOUU!!" he said getting on her bike and driving off to her house.

A few minutes pass and in still running. Half an hour and it's pouring. Rezume could see her house so she's most likely ok.

Streaks of lighting and thunder burst in the sky.

I finally get home.

"WAKATOSHI-KUN. I'M HOME!!"

No answer.

I take my shoes off. "WAKATOSHI-KUN?"

Still no answer

I walk thru the house and find him in the bathroom. He seemed to be crying.

"Wakatoshi-kun?"

"Y-yes?" He sniffle' s as he speaks.

I go and sit in the bath tub with him. I lay him down on my lap and pat his head comforting him.

"You're scared of thunder?"

"Y-y-yes.."

"It's ok. I'm right here. I don't leave until I know you're safe,and comforted."

"T-thank Y-you." He sniffled.

We fell asleep.
