S E L A H looked up at the sky. It was pitch black with a few tiny specks it. The lights from the city drowned out the beautiful stars in the sky. A slight breeze blew her dark hair back and she smiled. She planned to rob a high end jewelry shop on 4th street, a step up from her usual petty crimes. The worse the place she robbed the better, people will start to see who she really is. A woman with power and someone who should be feared. Once she achieved that she can seek her revenge in her father's name.
Selah, once arrived at the jewelry disabled the security system first. She was always considerably good with tech, something she picked up from her father. She slipped inside through a window landing in a storage room. She had to lay low, there was most likely a security guard inside.
She made her way out of the room ever so cautious of her surroundings. Her goal was to reach the show room and loot up there. Once she was close to the front of the store she heard footsteps and froze. A security guard emerged from a door and spotted Selah in an instant.
"Freeze!" The man shouted reaching for his taser.
Selah laughed at this. "You're no match for me."
Selah swiftly rushed over to the man and attempted to land a punch. He blocked it with quite ease, much to her surprise. In turn he tried to tase her. She rolled out of the way and grabbed hold of his arm. She pulled him forward, struggling slightly due to his size and knocked him off his feet with a kick. She hovered over him and went for the taser but he laid a punch to her face. Selah paused for a moment and he called for help. The girl regained her focus and grabbed his taser, knocking him out cold while he was distracted.
"Shit." She whispered. Back up was coming meaning she had to move quick. She rushed into the showroom and began breaking the glass displays. She took whatever she could and thew it into a small black duffel bag she brought with her.
She rushed out of the shop once she felt she had grabbed as much as she possibly could within the little time she had. As she turned to run down the street a dark figure flew down in front of her blocking her way. She turned to the opposite direction but was met with arms wrapping around her. She kicked her way out of this hold and was met with the face of her attacker.
It was batgirl. Her purple uniform shone under the moonlight and her cape blew along with the breeze. Her long red hair was brought into a pony tail at the top of her head and her mask covered the area around her eyes.
"Batgirl, I've been awaiting the day we'd finally meet." Selah said.
"This ends now Tyrant, you're a menace to Gotham. You're petty crimes do nothing for our city."
Selah's eyes widen at this and she immediatly threw a punch at the redheaded hero. Batgirl blocked it and threw her own. Selah swiftly ducked and kicked the girl while doing so. She stumbled backwards slightly but didn't drop to the floor.
"It's gonna take a lot more than that to defeat me." Batgirl said.
"I wouldn't be so cocky."
The two continued swinging punches and attempting to take each other down. Eventually batgirl began throwing batarangs at Selah. At first she dodged them all with ease but it soon become difficult to keep up. Selah reached for her dual batons and used them to help block the batarangs.
Eventually Selah got close enough to batgirl and was able to knock her down. She threw a couple punches which were enough to keep her down for a bit, giving Selah time to run.
"Well Batgirl, looks like I got you this time."
The dark haired girl stood up to run and shouted after her. "This was fun, we should do it again sometime!"
The wails of police sirens could he heard from behind her and Selah laughed. She had just defeated Batgirl in a fight. It made her feel accomplished and proud. All the time she invested in training herself had paid off, everyday she was improving and getting closer to meeting her goal. Taking down the men that killed her father.
Once Selah reached her tiny apartment she entered as usual, through her fire escape route. She undressed and put on comfortable clothes. She planned on going through the things she had stolen from the jewler's but she couldn't find her bag. She immediately flipped out. She tried to retrace her steps of the night and eventually realized the only possible conclusion would be that Batgirl had took it without her noticing.
Normally she would have been filled with rage, tonight she could only smirk. She knew her and Batgirl would cross paths again and there was something to her that drew Selah in. She liked her attitude.
For the rest of the night she couldn't get her head off the red headed girl hero in the purple suit.
