AMETHYST

"Hurry up. They'll be here soon." Remind me not to be friends with another busy body, one is enough in my life.

"What are you doing here?" I question her, giving her a once over, still blocking the entrance to the house. She doesn't look bad, except for the lemon coloured hat she had on. Every other thing looked perfect.

"I came to help a friend get ready." She grins.

"Wait a minute, correct me if I am wrong but don't you have a husband to go with? So why are you here at my place?" She feigns hurt upon hearing what I said.

"Well, he is still getting packed." She shrugs.

"Then go help him get ready." I quickly get in and shut the door on her face, grateful I did that. She deserves it. I hear her banging on the door and calling my name. I just laugh and reply.

"Go to your man."

"I will kill you for this." She states back in annoyance.

"Who is there?" Nick asks.

"Who else? Imogen." I shrug. He just mutters an 'oh' before going about his activities like nothing is happening. When I finally thought she had a chance at bringing the door down, not literally though, she stops banging on it and leaves.

"Whooh." I sigh and straighten the hair that had fallen on my face before heading back to finish packing.

The event organisers arrive 30 minutes later to pick us. Nick had a brawl with them. They insisted we go without our bodyguards and he was of the opinion we went with at least one of them. After several arguments, I convinced him to just give in, which thankfully, he listened to.

On the other hand, Imogen was sleeping on her husband's chest. She looks so calm for a busy bee. I chuckle and get into the car, Nick following suit. We stopped to pick up another couple who introduced themselves as Hannah and Jason before heading to the lodge.

We arrived at the lodge at exactly 4:55pm where we met with seven other couples, making it a total of ten couples for the event.

"Hello, couples. Hope you are excited for this event because I am." The speaker blasts with a voice.

"So, each couple has their room. Everyone shares the cafetaria where food and refreshments are made available whenever you need it. Enjoy and feel free. Rooms will be allocated based on ballot. Look to your right, there's a mould of a shark. The husbands are to dip their hands into it and retrieve the room keys." The voice adds.

Nick walks to the said mould and dips his hand into the mould. 'G' it reads. We head through a corridor and finally come out at an opening that had different rooms in it.

Finally settled in our room, I bring out my phone to take a selfie for Maya as she requested earlier.

"I did a quick survey of the environment. Your friend is in room A." By my friend he means Imogen.

"Alright." I half-mindedly say. Next thing, I am met with a pillow.

"Ow!" I yell.

"That's for not paying attention to me." He teases, wiggling his tongue then jumps on the bed.

"So tell me, wifey. What interests you? We are stuck together in this room for two weeks." He wiggles his eyebrows suggestively and surprisingly kisses the back of my palm. In response, I smack his head and withdraw my hand from the electrifying wave his action caused in my body. Clearing my throat, I speak up.

"Art." I state, vaguely.

"And?" He asks.

"What interests you?" I shoot back. He picks up my hand again, I make an attempt to pull it off but he holds it firmly in place. Damn this feeling racing through my body.

"Business and a pretty lady." He kisses the back of my palm for the second time today, looking at my eyes with so much emotions. He leans in and pulls my hair in place. Don't tell me this is happening, Oh my God. I am freaking out internally. He leans in to close the distance between us when a knock sounds on the door, disrupting the moment.

"Fuck." He swears as he stands up to open the door.

"Is Amethyst in?" Imogen. What the hell? I quickly rush to the bathroom upon hearing her voice.

"In the bathroom!" I yell, turning on the taps for make believe.

"Alright, I came to drop this." I hear Nick shut the door and I leave the bathroom, taking a peek at the room, just to be certain she is not here, before finally stepping in, letting out a loud sigh.

"Heaven knows why we met this woman here." Nick hisses.

"Honestly. She's great but sometimes annoying." I state.

"Everytime." He sighs and hands me a box wrapped in purple decorative wraps. "She brought this." He adds.

Taking the wraps off the box, it's content is revealed to be her cookies.

"I'll have a quick shower." Nick disappears into the bathroom without waiting for my response.

"I will be out." I pick two pieces of the chocolate cookies and head out.

"Hey, Amethyst." I hear a familiar voice call from a distance. Turning around, I am met with Jude.

"Hello." I wave and send a smile to his direction. He returns the smile and jogs to where I stood.

"Uhm. You are here for the event?" He asks.

"Yup. You?" I pop the 'p' in yup.

"I am the moderator. The voice you heared over the speaker, it's mine." He states.

"Oh, really? That's nice." I turn in an attempt to walk off.

"So you are really married?" He asks. Yeah, dummy. You know Nikolas Galanis and you don't know I am his wife? Shaking my head, I turn around to face him.

"Yes, I am." I answer and my eyes widen, seeing Nick walk towards us in anger.

"You have to go." I state and make a gesture with my head. He turns to look behind him and sees hubby approaching.

"Oops. Angry bird coming up." He states and for a weird reason, it sounded funny to me. I let out a chuckle.

"See you another time." He zooms off just before Nick stands in front of me.

"Are you seriously going to keep doing this?" I cock an eyebrow in question. He doesn't say anything in response but pulls my into his arms and runs his hand down my hair in silent response, breathing in and out to calm himself before pecking me on my head and then continues running his hand on my hair.
