As the minutes went by Ibuki cracked some light-hearted jokes toward Mikan, she knew that the cab was gonna come by any minute now, so she wanted to make sure Mikan had a smile on her face that would last the entire night. The quaint little café had few customers within it, but with the smell of freshly brewed coffee radiating into the air, and the slightly dimmed lights the atmosphere of the place was simply impeccable. Ibuki checked her phone to see how far away the cab was, which it was only fifteen minutes away. "Mikan, let's head outside, our cab's gonna be here any minute now." Ibuki got up from her seat, grabbed her backpack, and walked toward the door that leads to the outside world, shortly being followed by Mikan.
When the two girls headed outside the café the atmosphere under the stars was rather chilly considering what time of the year it was. While they were waiting for their cab to appear they sat down on a nearby bench, as the wind slowly flew through their hair, and the sounds of cars honking polluted the air. Ibuki and Mikan both had sleepy expressions on their faces, yet with that they both couldn't stop smiling softly to one another.
While more time passed by they subconsciously moved closer to each other, their hands interlocking together as they sat shoulder to shoulder. Mikan was the first one to notice that their hands were like that, and even though her mind was telling her to move her hand she couldn't, it just felt... right to her. After a while Ibuki realized what her hand was doing, and she moved her hand "Oh, Ibuki is sorry for doing that."
"I-it's okay." Mikan stammered, while being a little bit flustered "I w-wish it lasted a little bit longer t-though." she added under her breath, which Ibuki heard.
After that encounter the two of them again looked at the scenery around them, until their ride came. As the cab pulled up into the parking lot Ibuki was the first one to get up from the bench, being shortly followed by Mikan. Ibuki was the first one to reach the cab. When she got to the cab she held the door open for Mikan, giving the purple haired girl a little wink with a gleeful smile on her face, as she bowed. The two girls then told the rough looking cab driver to drive them to Mikan's place, which the driver did.
When the musician and nurse got to their location Ibuki was surprised how close she lived to Mikan, by Ibuki's estimates it was like a thirty minute walk at most. After paying the cab driver Ibuki sprung out of the cab to catch up to Mikan. "Ibuki hopes you have a great night!" Ibuki happily yelled as she quickly gave Mikan a little hug.
"Sa-same to you." The purple haired nurse responded with a tiny bit of shock in her voice; as Ibuki let go of her, turned around, and headed home for the night.
Ibuki yawned as she rubbed her eyes open, the sun peaking between the window shutters. Today was not only a friday, but it was also the second day of school. Turning her head toward her phone she read the numbers on the small screen, she had two hours until school started. Getting up from her bed she took her time to get ready for the day, conserving as much energy as possible for the day coming up ahead. After tidying up her messy room she looked upon the phone laying on the table right next to her bed, she had an hour and thirty minutes before the school gates opened.
Ibuki then got the wonderful idea to text Mikan, to see if she was awake. "Heeyyyyyyyy!" The text message began "Ibuki wonders if her lil' ball of everything cute is awake." Ibuki sent the message, her eyes not moving away from the three little dots moving up and down.
"Yeah, I'm awake, please don't get mad at me for being up too early." Mikan (or as Ibuki's screen stated: 'The Magnificently Adorable Mikan') responded in a short amount of time.
"Mikan sweetie, Ibuki would never hate someone as lovingly endearing as you." Ibuki replied before quickly firing off with another text message "She's wondering if you wanna take a walk around the nearby park?" she ended her message with a heart emoticon.
"Sure, I'll go for a walk." Mikan's first message read "But can you please stop calling me cute?" her second message shortly came behind it.
"Augh fine, Ibuki will stop calling you by those names." Ibuki texted as she got her jacket on "she'll be over there in like 15 minutes <3" she sent out before she bolted out her front door, not reading the message that Mikan sent that read "what does '<3' mean?"
As Ibuki ran toward Mikan's house all of the thoughts in her head were about the nurse, and what they were gonna do today; and before she even knew what was happening she saw Mikan sitting on the stairs of her porch. Waving her hand, Ibuki slowed down as Mikan got up from the porch, and walked toward the musician. "Sooooo," Ibuki started, as she was catching her breath "what do you think of your new phone?"
"Oh, i-it's nice to have one, th-thank you." Mikan nervously smiled as her eyes were caught by a bird flying past them.
The two of them then went off of Mikan's porch, as they headed to the park. While the two girls walked around the park, Ibuki spent every moment looking into her peers eyes, they were simply hypnotising in the simplest words. When the two girls were gonna sit on a nearby bench a layer of dew was covering said bench, so Ibuki laid her jacket atop of the bench so the two of them could sit down. "Y-you didn't have to do that." Mikan said, rubbing the back of her head.
"Well, it was merely a jacket, I can dry it off anytime." Ibuki chuckled as a gust of wind crawled up her back, making her shiver a bit and yelp; causing the both of them to die of laughter.
The rest of the day felt like it went by in a flash, Ibuki thought to herself as she walked home. As she sat down on her bed Ibuki saw that she got a new message on her phone, picking it up she saw that the message was from Mikan. "Hey, I rather not explain why, but can I stay at your place for a while?"
Ibuki then got up from her bed to ask her if one of her classmates could stay by for a little bit, she didn't mind and allowed Mikan to stay over. "Ibuki says sure, her mom gives you permission to stay here for a while <3" her message read out "Ibuki will come get you in like 30 minutes."
As Ibuki was about to walk outside it began to drizzle outside, so she quickly ran back inside to put on a oversized pink hoodie, and she brought an umbrella just in case. Walking down the sidewalk as the rain slowly fell down onto the world, the area surrounding the light music player was kinda chilly; yet for some odd reason the area around her was awfully silent, besides for the sound of cars as they zoomed past her. Her legs moving at a more and more brisk pace she anticipated to see her friend any minute now, that's when she saw her waiting at her porch.
Walking up to the nurse a subtle smile grew across Ibuki's face, as she tried to chuckle it off. Ibuki then saw that Mikan was still wearing her school uniform, "Aren't you cold right now?" Ibuki innocently asked as her head tilted to her right.
"I mean, i-it was my only pair of c-clean clothes." Mikan answered, as Ibuki took off her hoodie and handed it to her peer.
"Take this, I don't want to see my qu-friend cold." Ibuki said as she waited for Mikan to put on her hoodie.
As Mikan put on the hoodie Ibuki's heart felt like it was being overpowered by a warm, fuzzy feeling. Ibuki then gasped "Aaaaaawww my god, Mikan you look so freaking cute!"
"S-stop calling me cute!" Mikan blushed as she put her hood on, and walked up to Ibuki.
When the two girls stood right next to each other Ibuki opened her umbrella, stepping off the porch they had the umbrella as a protection from the natural elements from the world. They both walked shoulder to shoulder as their hands interlocked together, the both of them wouldn't let go until they got to Ibuki's house.
