As Ibuki's hand slowly opened up the front door of her house a wave of warmth exploded towards the two girls; while they headed inside they took off their shoes, as Mikan gave Ibuki her hoodie back. Ibuki then walked toward her room as Mikan shortly followed her, waving to Ibuki's mom as they passed by her. When the two girls got to Ibuki's room they both had massively different reactions,Ibuki simply saw it as her room, while Mikan saw the room as a total mess.
Picking up a blanket that was sloppily laid across the floor, Mikan folded it up, and placed it on top of Ibuki's couch; which she assumed was the place she would be sleeping tonight. Ibuki then helped Mikan with cleaning up her room, feeling kinda bad that she hadn't already.
After around seventeen minutes the two of them looked around the room, it already looked a lot cleaner. Ibuki's queen sized bed was in the top right corner of her room, right next to her bed was a couch staring at a television across the bedroom. There were some instruments like basses and guitars stacked against a wall, on the bottom right corner of the room. The rest of the place had desks, and shelves carrying stuff like laptops, her collection of movies, and video games; which Ibuki admittedly said she wasn't good at.
While Mikan plopped herself on top of the couch her body groaned as she caught her breath, as Ibuki was messing around on one of her basses. "Hey Ibuki, c-can I mess around with one of your guitars?" Mikan asked as she looked upon the musician, Ibuki shrugged as she responded with a quick and simple "Sure."
When Mikan got up from the couch she dragged her body towards the collection of haphazardly placed instruments, she grabbed the neck of an acoustic guitar that wasn't in the mess of basses, picking up said guitar Mikan walked back to Ibuki's couch, and sat down again.
Mikan knew that she didn't really know how to play any instrument, especially a guitar, but she knew that Ibuki wouldn't mind. As she amateurishly strummed at random cords Mikan was having a fun time playing a tune, not paying attention to the musician whose mind was taking notes. Diverting her eyes from the guitar Mikan's eyes gazed into the eyes of the girl watching her, "Umm, I-i'm sorry if I'm d-doing something wrong. I never p-played the guitar before." Mikan nervously stated as she stopped playing the guitar.
"No, it's fine, Ibuki wants you to go on." she said as she placed her hand on her chin, the cogs in her brain turning.
Going back to playing the guitar, Mikan tried to play the same chords she had already strummed from memory. Moving her arm at a rhythmic pace she went on making stuff up as she played, some of it sounding decent, while other parts didn't sound that good. As her nervous nature got to her, the nurse stopped playing the guitar. Moving her head up she saw that the musician's face had brightened up, with a big smile across it. "Ibuki really likes Mikan's song!" Ibuki gleefully said, as she went on about how good the song was, for a person at her skill level.
As the night went on the two girls decided to watch a movie, going through the backlog of Ibuki's kinda huge movie collection, Ibuki's eyes were fixated with a certain movie. Pulling the movie out the musician found an old guilty pleasure of hers. Showing the movie off to Mikan a simple sentence came out of her giddy mouth "Mikan! We have to see this!"
"Is it g-good?" Mikan questioned, as Ibuki quickly answered with a response that kinda shocked the nurse "No, it's like a dumpster fire!"
"Th-then why should we watch it?" Mikan gave out another question.
"Oh, it's great." Ibuki vaguely replied as she placed the movie into her DVD player.
During the first few seconds of the movie Mikan's eyes were glued onto the screen of Ibuki's television, then in mere seconds she got herself an answer. The screen showed a panning shot of a hill on a sunny day, then as soon as the scene began the cameraman dropped their camera down the hill, as an entire crew ran after it. The scene caught the nurse by surprise, giving the nurse a slight chuckle, as Ibuki was laughing her butt off, which caused the nurse to join in, the two of them dying of laughter. As this was happening more scenes of comedic misfortune played on the screen; the two of them barely having enough time to catch their breath right before another giggle fit began.
"Y-you know Ibuki." Mikan began as a giggle came out of her mouth "I see why you wanted to show me this."
"Yeah! It's just like, so good!" Ibuki loudly laughed to herself, rolling on the floor before she calmed herself down a bit.
As the blooper reel ended the two students finally had the time to catch their breath. Getting up from the floor Ibuki sat on the couch, right next to Mikan, before she struck up a conversation with the nurse. The two of them talked for hours about their talents, and other personal stuff, the both of them learning more about one another.
When they went to bed the two of them went to their respective places, Ibuki in her queen size bed, and Mikan on the couch. As it felt like seconds turned into hours Mikan was awake, tossing and turning, yet she still couldn't feel anything close to being tired. Sitting up on the couch the nurse looked upon the musician, who was sound asleep in her own bed, and one thought came across Mikan's mind "Ibuki is really cute."
Mikan had to admit it to herself, even though she had just met the girl she already had a crush on the light music player. Mikan just loved basically everything about Ibuki, and how they spent quality time together. She wanted to confess her feelings to Ibuki, but she was scared of how Ibuki would react. Subconsciously Mikan tiptoed toward the bed Ibuki was sleeping in, standing right next to the bed, and without even thinking about any consequences Mikan grabbed the corner of Ibuki's blanket, and crawled onto the other side of Ibuki's bed.
"Mikan, Why are you trying to sleep in Ibuki's bed?" Ibuki sleepfully asked as she rubbed her bright coloured eyes open.
Mikan was at a loss of words, since she honestly didn't know how to respond without making everything worse. So, she asked a simple question "I-ibuki c-can I say something t-to you? Even if it makes you upset?"
"Sure, Ibuki doesn't mind, she's all ears." She sincerely replied as she looked at the back of Mikan, as the nurse clenched onto the bed sheets.
"I-i'm sorry if this makes you uncomfortable..." Mikan sighed before finishing the rest of her statement "Ibuki, I know we just met, but you mean a lot to me, and I think I love you... Like, I mean I really love you, and..." she let out another sigh before rushing out another sentence "Y-you wanna be my girlfriend?"
Mikan then closed her eyes, cringing that she just said that, imagining the worst happening to her. A few seconds later she heard Ibuki's voice whisper in her ear "Ibuki loves you too, girlfriend." which made Mikan turn around, looking into Ibuki's eyes.
"Y-you serious? " Mikan quietly asked, as Ibuki simply nodded, causing the both of them to tiredly smile.
Then she asked another question to Ibuki "Y-you wanna like... Go on a d-date sometime?" Mikan got the same response from Ibuki.
As the both of them went back to the land of slumber Mikan unknowingly wrapped her arms around Ibuki's waist, hugging the musician Mikan was the first to fall asleep. While Ibuki was still awake she loved the feeling of being lightly hugged by Mikan, but one thing was taking up the majority of her thoughts in her mind. She was looking forward to the date tomorrow, with her 'cute as a button' girlfriend known as 'Mikan Tsumiki'.
