October 5th

What was written on the paper was: « On october 9th, a giant meteor will hit Earth, which will cause the end of humanity on our planet. ». They both stayed silent for a moment. Then Nila said « It really did choose the worst day to come.. I thought your 10th birthday would be more.. enjoyable. But it's not like we can do something about it, let's just live the best four last day of our lives. ». Maël agreed, and wanted to be as calm as Nila, but couldn't help but be sad. A tear starts rolling down his cheek. They decide to go home and pretend that everything is fine, that the world will still live for another thousand years, probably even more. That every pain and joy will keep going for as long as it can. That the plants will keep growing, that the babies will grow old, and the parents will have enough time to see their grand-child, even maybe their grand-grand-child. That maybe one day they will see eachother marrying the love of their life, and be happy for them. That maybe the world wouldn't end so soon.
