I ignored the morning announcement. After what happened between me and Nagito I didn't want to deal with today for today.

Although when I got a knock on my door in a half-hour later, I couldn't just ignore people.

It was Peko. I sighed of relief.

"Thank you! You are literally the only person I'm willing to talk to today." I grunted. 

"How is he?" Peko asked.

"Who? Fuyuhiko? I don't know. Didn't you check the hospital?"

"I'm... scared to look at his face the same again."

"Oh...?"

"I heard about your fight with Nagito so I understand if you are not willing to, but I'd like to ask for you to come with me to check on him."

"You need me to be your backup?"

"Yes. A selfish request, I know but-"

"Let's go."

"What?"

"Yeah. I'm not really up for it but like I said before. If I'm not entertaining people I'm entertaining myself. It works in both directions and since I'm in a shit mood and can't cheer myself up at the moment I'm willing to help people out so long as it's not Nagito."

Peko sighed. "I give you my gratitude."

We took a stroll to the hospital on the 3rd island.

As we walked Peko handed me something.

"By the way, I grabbed this for you from the diner."

I unwrapped the foil. It was a burrito.

"You went to the diner to eat instead of the restaurant?"

"I understand completely if no one doesn't want to be near my presence and I respect them for it. I of course was in hiding when everyone was in the hospital last night so I'm glad you are my side."

"I don't take sides I'm with everyone...except Nagito. He went too far." I grunted eating my burrito.

"I do not appreciate his way of insulting false rumors about me either but there is nothing I can do about it because I know your intentions are to keeping everyone alive and I wish to help you in any way I can."

She stopped walking. 

"I'd like to be your friend."

I choked on my burrito.

"Bruh. What?"

"I get a strong feeling that these hope fragments are the solution to escaping this place. Is that not what the rabbit wanted from us?"

"Huh..." I glance through my hope fragments. "I never thought of it like that."

"So that is why I am asking for you to be my friend."

"Sure. I've already considered everyone a friend once I meet them anyways so not sure why you're even asking in the first place."

"Excuse me?"

"Peko. Friends aren't a title. They're simply how long you've interacted with someone... In my opinion anyway."

"I see..." Peko was deep in thought.

"We're here," I said.

"Indeed." Peko reached for her sword bag.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"I am going to leave my sword outside to show I am defenseless. If I am defenseless, I can not be a threat." Peko said calmly and put her Sword in a nearby bush.

"By the way. You say you are used as a tool then what do you call your sword?"
