It's a lazy Saturday, turning to the evening the sun starts to set as you held your book and little blanket for your picnic. You just had strawberries and a few cans of lemonade. The sky looked perfect, the clouds almost look like hearts and you day dreamed a little as you walked along, still day dreaming, you bumped into a shoulder.
"Oh! Oh god sorry I-" You say as you grab the lemonade can from the floor.
The lady grabbed the other can giggling.
"Oh darling don't worry I was doing the same! The sky does look beautiful..." She said softly and then you gaze up to see the most gorgeous woman you've seen, probably ever. Her grey hair was like a cherry on top of her perfect glowing face, which was decorated with wrinkles that were placed in the most fitting places. Her eyes were full of hope and love, and you could tell she had lived a long and wonderful life and seen it all. Those earthy eyes were carefully protected with big framed glasses, which rested on cheekbones. Her crooked nose was framing her face, and a big smile stretched her cheekbones as she saw you looking over her.
"I'm Meryl, lovely to meet you, going for a picnic?" She said joyfully.
You tell her your name as you both stroll towards a slight hill that was covered in the sunshine. She smiled again and closed her eyes as she raised her chin to the sky.
"Oh isn't it lovely weather..." She said dreamily, and looked back at you with a smile.
"Oh yes, it's really lovely, I love sunsets like this....." You say as equally as dreamily as she does. "Would you like to join me for the lemonade and strawberries I have?"
Meryl laughed again. "I was hoping you'd ask, the strawberries look delicious!" She said expressively, as she grabbed the blanket from under your arm and laid it out in the grass that still had a morning dew of rain on it. Meryl sat down and you sat beside her, and passed her a can of lemonade. She opened it, and took a delicate sip. You took a bite of a strawberry then you took a can and opened it, it exploded. You giggled nervously as it was all down your top, and looked at Meryl nervously.
"Oh goddess! Hang on I think have spare shirt here...." Meryl said softly as she dipped her hands into a handbag.
Your eyes widened. You were about to wear-
"Here we go..." Meryl said caringly as she passed a white shirt, it smelt strongly of a fresh, floral perfume and it was soooooo soft.
"I'll look away..." Meryl giggles and turned her head to look at the nearby pond. You quickly take off your blouse and replace it with her shirt, it was so soft and smelt so good, it was warm like she had just worn it. Meryl smirked as she turned round.
"It looks good on you" She said sweetly.
The sun starts to set more, the strawberries are almost gone, and you take the last one, you shiver in the disappearance of the sun. Meryl caringly wrapped her arm round you.
"Oh god it's a little chilly now, are you cold?"
"A little yeah..." You say timidly.
Meryl giggled and finished her lemonade.
"Thank you for treating me like a normal human, It's nice to just eat strawberries with someone you bump into..." Meryl laughed saying it. "And who spills lemonade of them...." Meryl laughed again and you both ended up giggling together. Her phone rings.
"Oh my husbands calling, probably wants me home. Lovely to meet you darling, have a great evening!" Meryl kissed your head and stood up.
"What about your blouse?"
"Keep it!" Meryl walked off, the sun shone on her as it disappeared completely, and she waved, as she answered the call. You waved timidly.
You pack up, and walk along the path, her smell wrapped around you and her slightly oversized blouse holding you. You feel safe, and make your way home. That picnic went better then usual.
