Yashiro cleans the toilet while I sit on the sink trying to mask my fear.

I'd went back in time.. via one of the seven wonder's boundary. Back in time.. to when she could still smile.

"I'm done, Hanako-kun!" she smiles at me while playing with the mop, this smile is going to be erased from my life forever if I don't do something..

"..."
"Hanako-kun, I know."

As if something had zapped me, I instantly look up, "H-huh?"

"I'm going to die, right?"

"How did you know!?"

"..."
"Hey, Hanako-kun.."

After a moment of silence she avoids the question entirely.

"Take me to the rooftop."

"Eh? Why?"

"I want to see the stars before I die." she smiles at me with the most genuine eyes, she wasn't sad.. in fact it seems she'd accepted her death.

No.. I've come to prevent it..

"Yashiro! You're not going to die! I'm going to-!" I stop for a moment and realize I'm shouting.

"...I'm sorry, Hanako-kun."
"But I'd like you not to try and prevent it."
"The future's the future."

"...No... I refuse to accept that... You're going to live... I'm not-"

"Hanako-kun."
"Don't force it."

She seemed so ready for death, it broke my heart.

No matter how important her life was to me, if she didn't want me to save her.. what am I even doing here?

Does this mean that saving her.. is selfish?

"No..."
"Do you not want to live?"

I couldn't help but recall it.

Her body in my hands, void of any emotion, her lifeless eyes starring up at me.

She died on the rooftop, below such a beautiful sky. The stars shined so brightly that night, the night she stopped breathing.

It was almost mocking us, me and the boy. It was showing us she would never get to see that view again.

I couldn't accept it. I couldn't forgive it.

So, out of anger, I went back in time, with a useless attempt at changing the future.

But hearing that she herself doesn't want to attempt it..

I can't forgive you, I can't forgive myself.

"Fine.. let's go.." I take her hand and lead her up the stairs to the rooftop.

I immediately notice the sky, it was a colour you'd only ever see in an anime, mixes of pink and purple all around it.

Even the stars seemed so perfect.

"Woah.. so pretty.."
"It's wonderful.."

She runs far away from me, into the middle of the rooftop, with her arms in the air and her back facing me.

"Hey, Hanako-kun.."

She spins around cheerfully

"I wouldn't mind to die under this sky!"

I didn't know whether to be sad or happy.

She smiled so brightly, running around like an excited puppy.. yet her words were so morbid.
