I was awoken by the sun beaming in my face. I rubbed my eyes, remembering all the events of the night before.
"Shit-" I whispered, quickly placing my hand over my front pocket, praying that my pacifier was still there.
Thankfully it was.
I grabbed it & sat up, looking down at it in my hand.
"What's wrong with you William? This stuffs for babies.." I thought to myself before getting up out of bed & opening my drawer.
I buried the pacifier deep into my drawer, placing it underneath my clothes before shutting it.
"Probably just a phase." I reassured myself before turning on my phone only to realize it was 5am on a Monday which only meant one thing:
School.
"Great." I murmured & dragged myself over to my mirror to see what I was working with;
My brown hair was a mess & my eyes seemed to droop downwards, but worst of all; I had a red handprint left on my cheek from the night before. I sighed & grabbed the framed picture of me & my mom that I always kept on my dresser.
It was of 11 year old me on a swing & her behind me, both of us smiling.
The rest of my family always said I looked a lot like her, but ever since what happened, I haven't seen them much either.
It's just been me & my dad who's slowly becoming an alcoholic.
"I miss you so much mom. If only you where h-"
My thoughts where interrupted by the front door slamming shut, meaning dad had left for work, taking the car with him.
I'd have to walk to school today.
Even better.
I took off my hoodie & stood in front of my closet, thinking of what to wear when I noticed a pale orange shirt tucked behind all of my other "regular" shirts. I pulled it out & examined it. Remembering I had ordered it a couple months back but never actually wore it out.
"Mommy's wild animal"
It said in a funky font with all sorts of wild animals imprinted on it.
I couldn't help but giggle at how silly the tiger on this shirt looked, feeling myself slip away;
"I's wearing you today!" I announced as if the shirt could understand me then slid it over my head & adjusted it. A perfect fit.
I threw on some light blue jeans & looked at my reflection.
"Lookin' guud" I winked at myself & giggled as I brushed through my hair with my fingers, making the messiness of it all look stylish- or something. O.o
I ran into the kitchen & microwaved myself some waffles,
"Who needs breakfast? Hmm not mee!" I bragged to myself before stuffing a waffle into my mouth & chewing as I slid my old Air Forces on.
For some reason, dirty, creased shoes just completed any look.
"You're da kewlest" I told myself while throwing my backpack on & grabbing my white hoodie. I always carried a hoodie because- welll ya never know~
I grabbed my phone with my other hand & checked the time; 5:45am.
I smiled looking at my wallpaper which was of a bunch of stuffies & blue sippy cups. Pretty aesthetic if you ask me~
I walked out of my house & locked the door behind me.~ 10 minutes later ~
After what felt like yeaars of walking through a desert, a car slowed down & stopped by me, the window rolling down to reveal a beautiful women with long black hair & black shades on. She looked up at me & my first instinct was to hold my hoodie up over the graphics on my shirt. What'd I tell ya? You never know 0.0
"Hey little guy! I know this might seem kinda odd but I figured you may want a ride to I'm assuming school? It's pretty hot out here huh?" She said as she pulled her glasses away from her face, revealing her deep green eyes.
I looked down at her & I could tell she noticed my confusion. I nodded. "Uhm- sure" I said with a small smile, I had nothing to lose. Plus, she seemed genuine.
I walked in front of her car to the other side & opened the car door. She smiled & pat the passengers seat, inviting me to take a seat.
I sat down & closed the door behind me. Immediately I was greeted by the sound of soft classical music playing, & a candy like smell. I continued to hold my hoodie close, making sure she wouldn't notice the littleness of it all.Katherines POV:
"Don't forget your seatbelt." I said with the softest voice possible, trying not to sound too demanding just yet.
He looked confused for a second before realizing what I meant. He reached over & buckled himself up. Still holding that little hoodie of his against his shirt. What could he be hiding? Maybe he was a shy baby.
I smiled at my own thoughts as I drove. It wasn't awkward. In fact, it was comfortable & I hope he felt that way too. We stopped at a red light so I pulled out a bag of skittles & offered him some.
His eyes lit up as he held his hand out. I laughed & poured some into his hand.
"I'm Katherine. What's your namee?" I asked to get him to loosen up a little which wasn't that difficult of a task;
"William! But my frans call me Liam! Not dat I have any frans buut if I did, I'd want dem tew call me L- sorry-" he stopped & I felt the urge to comfort him.
"Don't be sorry William. Go ahead, talk alll you want. I'm a good listener!" I reassured him & smiled, Earning me a shy smile in return which only made me want him even more.
"Okai welll if I had frans I'd want dem to call me Liam! It sounds kewler than William. Williams a liitle long but I heard it comes from Germany..." he started & I listened the whole way through.~ a whole lot of talking later ~
"Wooah I didn't know that! That's pretty cool!" I said & meant. Who knew dolphins could be gay?
In a span of 10 minutes Liam had talked about 12 different topics & I probably learned more during those 10 minutes than I did from my 12 years of school. I started college this year.
We where in the middle of laughing as I pulled up into the school entrance, noticing his laugh fade.
"I don't like school" he whined, crossing his arms.
By this point I knew he had to be a little~
"Heyy It'll be okay, just make it through today." I said, stopping myself from using a pet name on him too early.
"Hmm if you need a ride home after school-" I began, grabbing his phone from his lap & unlocking it; no password.
I noticed his wallpaper & a grin grew across my face but I didn't say anything about it. Instead I opened his contacts app & typed in my number.
"Call me." I said, handing him his phone back with a smile.
I noticed his face begin to get red as he took his phone back, stuffing it into his pocket before placing his hand over his red face in an attempt to hide his emotions.
I laughed & pat his head, hoping not to scare him away.
"It's okay, little one." I comforted, a bold move considering we had just met 20 minutes ago.
He relaxed his shoulders & smiled at me. A good sign.
"Well, You better get going!"
"Oh- uhm- yeah!" He agreed & quickly got his stuff together, stepping out of my car.
He shut the car door & gave me another shy smile.
"God what a cutie." I thought as I smiled back.
I watched him walk up to the school entrance, before he got lost in a crowd of other high school students.
I had to have him.Annd Pidt! This is more of a book to keep myself busy but yah:'D
