When her friends woke up the next morning they discovered she was long gone. They didn't find her anywhere.
Neither did the police.
There was simply nothing left to find.
The wolves had stripped the carcass the night before.
It was hard to believe that she was gone. It was actually easy to believe that she was the one who had gotten lost. She had always said she wanted to explore the woods.
