Not close behind her but it's one of those things you hear from miles away. Shivers ran up her spine.
She turned and ran in fear. She couldn't see in the dark.
She tripped and fell. Her arm was scraped up from palm to elbow but she didn't know that until she touched it to see if she was all right. Then it hurt a lot.
The howl sounded again. She looked up to see a wolf maybe five feet away.
It growled at her. She gasped.
She scrabbled backwards. The wolf howled loudly.
More wolves popped it seems from nowhere.
They started leaping towards her. She cursed again. Louder.
They ripped her to shreds.
