Hidden Secrets: Chapter Five

As Branch and Poppy goes down to the bunker, Poppy started whistling. But Branch seemed a little annoyed, "Stop that" Branch said trying to say it in a calm voice. "Why would I do that?" Poppy replied with a cheerful voice and continued whistling. Branch just sighed and let it go.

They arrived to the underground, "So what do you wanna do?" Branch asked and yawned a little. "You seem tired, did you sleep well last night?" Poppy was a little concern. "Well maybe.. But im fine"

Branch replied, and went to the kitchen. Poppy followed him, "Are you sure your okay?" "Yes, now stop caring too much" Branch said with a slight anger, and grabbed a cup and started to make coffee. "Okay then" Poppy left the kitchen and went to the living room then sat on a couch, waiting for Branch.

After couple more seconds Branch went to the living room and sat next to Poppy, sipping his coffee.

He put down his coffee on the table then looked at Poppy, "Wanna watch a movie?" Branch asked, smiling a little. Poppy nodded "Sure". Branch grabbed the remote and opened the tv in front of them. "What type of movie?" Branch asked. "Anything" Poppy replied with a happy voice. Branch smirked, "Are you sure you want me to pick the movie?" He asked, making Poppy a little nervous. "Y-Yeah" Poppy replied. "I warned you" Branch chuckled and played a horror movie. "Can you handle it? We can play a different one if you want" Branch looked at Poppy. "Y-Yeah.. Im sure I c-can" Branch grabbed his coffee and took a sip.

Couple minutes later

Branch was watching the movie without any facial expressions. While Poppy kept hugging Branch thighter in every jumpscares. He was enjoying Poppy's hug but never liked her being scared. Branch paused the movie, "Maybe we should watch a different one" Branch said. "Y-Yeah I dont like scary movies.." Poppy replied.

Branch played a happy movie, and putted down the remote then went closer to Poppy. She leaned on Branch's shoulder, making Branch blush. Making his powers activate slightly but too little to notice. He took a deep breath to calm himself down, then leaned on Poppy's head.

In the middle of the movie. Branch started to feel sleepy, making his eyes flickering. He moved a little to get more comfortable then closed his eyes.

Poppy didnt notice him sleeping until he started to snore lightly. Poppy looked up to Branch, seeing him sleeping peacefully with her. She smiled, "I love you Branchie" Poppy whispered. Branch smiled a little, moving his face closer to Poppy.

Couple more minutes later

Movie finished and started rolling the credits. Poppy snuggled to Branch, feeling great on the current situation. She slowly closed her eyes, and started to sleep with Branch.

Inside Branch's dream

Branch was having a great time under the sky full of stars with Poppy. Laughing, smiling, and some flirting. Poppy laid down to their spot, Branch giggled and looked up at the sky.

Until some dark shadow appeared in front of him. Branch looked at where Poppy was but she wasnt there. Branch started to freak out a little. He took a deep breath, them stood up.

"What are you and what do you want?!" Branch said in a furious tone. "You dont deserve her.." the shadow replied in a deep and dark voice. Branch clenched his both hands and teeth. "You dont know that!" Branch replied, shouting furiously. "You cant protect her.. Your weak and worthless." the shadow replied still on a dark and deep voice.

Branch snapped. He focused on his hands and made spiked ice. He aimed it at the shadow and furiously casted the ice. But the shadow dodged it easily and immediately went towards Branch, and started choking him. The shadow suddenly appeared in a same shape of Branch but still in a shadowy appearance. " Your weak, worthless, stupid, and nothing." the shadow threw Branch down to the ground roughly.

Branch finally woke up from his nightmare. He immediately tried to scanned on his current position.

He saw Poppy covering her mouth, looking terrified with tears falling down to her cheeks. Branch then noticed he was crying. He tried to wipe it out on his face, but suddenly stopped when he felt some cold and pointy feeling on his face when he touched it. He looked at his hands, noticing small ice spikes around his hand.

Branch gasped, and looked at Poppy. "I-Its not what it l-looks like.." Branch said, in a shaky and fearful voice. He went a little closer to Poppy, while she was backing away from Branch. "Please let me explain.." Branch said, trying to calm Poppy down a little.

Poppy suddenly tripped on a small rock and fell on the floor. She gave up trying to get away from Branch. "Please.." Branch said in a low voice. Poppy gulped and slowly and shakily nodded, "O-Okay.." Branch sighed in relief, being thankful for Poppy giving him a chance to explain.

Branch went back to the couch. While Poppy tried to sit next to him. "I should start from the beginning." Branch said.
