"Oh god... I'll stop this Lutenite... I promise," Leon mumbled to himself, I walked over to the black crate and opened it. I looked through it and found a portable safe and a few herbs I could carry, I examined the safe and started to press in the buttons. It blinked red. I tried again. Red. Again. Two green. Red. By the time I got it open I had tried out thirteen different combinations, I picked up the part that was inside it. The part looked like a button cap.
"Hey Leon. Can we use this for anything?" I asked holding the peice out, he walked closer and looked at it.
"Yeah, we can use that in the armory," I nodded and put it in my pocket.
"Lets go," We both walked into the reseption. Leon pushed open the door, the first thing I saw was one of those skinless Lickers. I grabbed Leon and pulled him back and closed the door.
"Not dealing with that shit head," I mumbled, Leon nodded.
"Yeah... We should go through the west office," We went through the west office and down the hall, there was a Licker crawling around the floor. I accidentaly nudged it making it swing, I started sprinting along with Leon. We ran into the armory and closed the door, I leaned against the wall panting.
"What the hell happened,"
"I bumped into the fucker... Anyways which number?" Leon looked over at the lockers.
"Two," I nodded and pressed it down, 208 and 102. Shot gun shells and gunpowder.
"Okay, so we need to get that door pannel working so we can get that card, didn't you find one of those parts?" I asked.
"Yeah, we need one more,"...
"Hey I found another portable safe!" Leon whisper shouted at me, I nodded.
"Nice! We should get going, I think I hear a Licker," We both started to quietly walk down a hall and up a set of stairs, I looked around and saw a diamond door. Leon jogged over and opened it, we ran into a few Mori's and juked them instead of wasting ammo. We wound up out on the roof, the rain felt calming yet eerie; like something was to go wrong... I looked around and noticed a burning helicopter, my eyes widened a little I ran over to a door and opened it... the hall was blocked by flames and the helicopter.
"Shit... We need to put out the fire," I mumbled before jogging back to Leon who was pulling a lever, the pipes above spilt out gallons of water- sadly not on the helicopter.
"We need to redirect the water... Lets check down there," Leon pointed to a staircase, I nodded and pulled out my knife. We both slowly climbed down the stairs, I froze when I heard very loud and obnoxious banging. There were Mori's trapped in a building, I continued down the stairs and looked around. There were two green herbs over near the stairs, I jogged over and grabbed them before meeting back with Leon. Three Mori's burst through the door and limped toward us, Leon ran over to a nearby lever and I kept the Mori's off of his back. I pried off all of their lower jaws and threw them to the ground, when ever they would try and get up I would kick them back down.
"Okay, lets go," I ran back up the stairs and pulled the lever, dumping the water onto the flames.
"Now we can check out that hallway," I said quietly, Leon nodded at me and led the way. We turned the corner to see the helicopter, a large ashy purple-blue hand lifted up the helicopter to revile a large man with a trench coat and hat. The man started walking towards us threateningly, I grabbed Leon's arm and dragged him down into the other building the Mori's broke out of. I could hear the mans foot steps coming closer, I quietly opened this other door and pulled Leon in. I covered my mouth, trembling with fear. I heard the first door open making me stiffen even more, I grabbed onto Leon who was holding his shotgun tightly- he was shaking slightly. I could hear the man stomp around a little, he was looking for us. I heard the foot steps stop in front of the door, I backed up a little. I was fully prepared to die right then and there, but the large man left. The front door opened and closed again, the man's footsteps could be heard from outside. I stood there frozen for a solid second before relaxing and breathing heavily, I apparently held my breath most of the time we were in here.
"H-holly shit," I whispered to myself in disbelief, no words could properly explain the fear I felt in that one moment. The fear I felt wasn't even for myself, not all of it. The fear I felt was for Leon, I didn't want him to die- not by the hands of some... mutant? What the hell was that thing? It's like it was built in a lab, that might actually be possible. The scene from the jailcell replayed in my head. That almost happened to me and Leon. I was re-watching the scene... except it was Leon that was in that thing's grasps, I grabbed my hair stressfully and closed my eyes in an attempt to get rid of that thought. I jumped a little when I felt someone grab my shoulder, I looked back at Leon who looked very worried.
"Hey, are you okay?" I shook my head.
"W-we almost died... and I have a feeling that he'll be searching for us now," I shivered a little, Leon did something surprising... He hugged me. I hugged back. We just stood there for a moment trying to calm each other down and regather our thoughts, I let go and pulled away.
"We need to search the rooms..." I started to look around finding another herb, a blue one. Leon awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck.
"Yeah," I started to think of something we could call the new mutant, it's like it was marking us... like a target. I couldn't exactly think of anything to call it.
"Let's call that purple dude 'Stalker Cunt'," I proclaimed randomly, I heard Leon giggle quietly. I turned around and faced him.
"You sure do cuss a lot," I smiled.
"Coping mechanism,"...
