Mikaelson Mansion ~ The Garden
Amelia took a deep breath before finally, she told Rebekah what was on her mind. "I went back." Rebekah looked at her confused, "you went back to where? Don't say you went back to Mystic Falls?" Amelia just nodded and closed her eyes for a second.
"Why? Why would you go back there?" Amelia just chuckled as she looked at her friend, "I needed to see my brothers, you know it didn't matter if Stefan wanted to kill me or that Damon chose him over me, I just wanted to see my brothers, who I haven't seen in a century and a half. Do you even realize how hard it is to be alone all this time? Wondering if the people you love the most, your family, is even alive? If they would die I wouldn't even know and I just couldn't live like that, wondering every day how are they or if they are even alive."
Rebekah went to hug her and Amelia didn't stop her, "I am sorry Amy, I know it was hard for you, but you know I am always there for you." Amelia nodded as she stopped hugging her, "I know Bex."
"So, how was it? You know seeing your brothers after all this time?" Amelia softly smiled as she went to sit on the bench and Rebekah followed her.
"It was fine. It was great seeing them after all this time, but it was still hard seeing Stefan, you know I love him but what he did to me isn't something I will forgive easily, I need time, and seeing him again it brought all these memories that it took me decades to push back. It is hard seeing the brother who almost killed me, it is hard even talking to him. I want to forget what happened, but I just can't." A tear started to form in her eyes but she wiped it before it could even fall down her cheek. It was painful for her to talk about the past and what she felt that night and in the nights that followed.
"I am so sorry Amy. I can't imagine how that must feel. It is already painful being daggered by your own brother, but being killed by your brother that is something completely different and I can't even imagine the pain you must felt, no one should feel like that, especially someone kind and good as you." Amelia looked at her with pain in her eyes.
"Wait, is he still doing that, daggering you?" Rebekah looked down for a second, but then she looked back to her friend, she didn't have to say anything, the absence of the words told Amelia everything she needed to know. "Why? Why would he do that?" Amelia suddenly became frustrated and angry that her best friend was still being a first-rate jackass.
"You know him, Ames. He is scared we will leave him and so in his delusional mind he thinks that the only way we will stay with him is by daggering us." Amelia just nodded at her words, she knew Klaus too well and somehow she knew how he felt, he was scared of being alone, all he wanted was to be loved, just like her.
"I know Bex because I know how it feels to be scared every day of being left alone, but the difference between me and him is that he has a family that loves him, and that won't leave him no matter what, I wished I could say that for me." At that moment Rebekah felt so bad for her best friend. She wanted her to be happy because all that she has known for the past century and a half was pain, and she deserved so much better than that.
"Ames your brothers love you, they just have a weird way of showing it, just give them a chance, they made a mistake, a horrible mistake of leaving you behind, you deserve better, and if you ever feel alone you always have us, you will always be a part of our family, you know that right?" Amelia just nodded as she let a tear fall down her cheek.
"I know that Bex. You were always like a sister to me, and I am so grateful for all that you did for me, for a stray dog." Rebekah just rolled her eyes as Amelia started laughing. "You were never a stray dog Ames." Amelia just chuckled, "if you say so. I need to talk about another thing, well there is another reason I am here, and I was hoping you could help me."
