Akari stared up at the white ceiling above her. A flood of thoughts were going through her head, especially about what happened just a few hours ago during the game against Outei Tsukinomiya.
Did she do the right thing? Was letting Outei Tsukinomiya take the win really the best idea? Akari wanted to win, she really did but whenever her gaze landed on Nosaka, her mind would wonder back to the horrific news that Anna had told her. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't go hard on Nosaka when she played on the field, not when he was in danger of dying.
Speaking of the devil himself, the door opened and in came Nosaka Yuuma in all his glory. He had a bouquet of red and white roses, Akari's favourite flowers, in his hands. After closing the door, Nosaka proceeded towards Akari's bed only to stop when a pair of beautiful blue eyes stared right back into his lifeless grey ones.
"Yuuma." Akari smiled weakly at him.
"Akari.." He rushed over to her side, carefully placing the flowers on the table beside her bed. He caressed her cheek softly, tears pricking the end of his eyes. "Y-you're okay."
Akari eyes softened. She couldn't stay mad at him, he looked so vulnerable right now. Like a lost puppy trying to find it's way back to their owner. It was the first time she's seen him like this, a person who looks so helpless. He was always so cool, calm and collected, a person who was one step ahead so he had no worries.
Nosaka choked back a sob, "Akari... I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have used Grid Omega, you wouldn't be in this situation if I didn't."
Akari gave a sad smile, placing her hand on top of Nosaka's. "Yuuma it's alright. I'm okay now, no need to worry."
"I'm glad, I don't know what I'd do without you." Nosaka smiled and placed a soft kiss on her forehead, "My Empress."
Akari blushed at the nickname but smiled anyways. At least he was smiling now. Akari started moving, trying to sit but was a little bit tired because she just woke up but managed thanks to Nosaka's help. Nosaka then took a seat beside her, pulling her closer to his body and rested her head on his chest. She didn't argue, she didn't struggle to be set free because she doesn't know the next time she'll get to be in his arms again or at least to see him.
The mere thought of him dying, not seeing him again was... horrible. She cared for him, alot and she knew he cared for her as well. Losing someone you care about is the worst feeling ever, she just doesn't want to lose him especially since he- alongside Nishikage- were the first people she met in the Football Frontier.
"Akari? Why are you crying my dear Empress?" Nosaka frowned.
Akari didn't even realise she was tearing up until Nosaka pointed it out. Shakily she started speaking, "Why? Why didn't you tell me Yuuma? Why not tell me about your brain tumour?"
Nosaka's frown deepened. Someone told her about his condition and he didn't really need to think to know who did. Sighing Nosaka brushed his fingers through her blue locks, trying to calm her down.
"I didn't want to worry you.""But I care about you! I'm supposed to worry Yuuma! I-I don't want you to leave me! Please don't leave me!" Akari cried.
Nosaka hugged her tighter, not really caring about his shirt that was now getting damp because of her tears. He started whispering sweet nothings into her ear, thankfully calming her down. He slightly pulled away to stare down at her, even with her teared stained cheeks she still looked beautiful.
He couldn't resist.
Before Akari could react, Nosaka leaned in and crashed his lips onto hers. The action was so sudden, Akari gasped in surprise which Nosaka took as an opening to shoot his tongue into her mouth and started exploring every inch of it. The kiss was slow, passionate and a little bit full of hunger, filled with all of Nosaka's love.
