When Love Wins

Chapter IX

Luna stood at the counter feeding her son a mix of scrambled eggs, breast milk and baby cereal, and she smiled when he giggled when Chase wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Morning." Chase said before he kissed his wife's neck softly.

"Morning." Luna said and she turned her head for a kiss.

Chase kissed her cheek and then laid his hands on her small belly. "Finish feeding Ruan and then you can have a proper kiss."

Luna smiled at him and she gave her son some more food. "I was planning on making you some breakfast so that it is ready when you got home."

"And then mister woke up?" Chase asked.

"He was awake, but when I took eggs out, he got really excited and really fussy all at the same time." Luna said and she scraped the last of the food out of the bowl and gave it to her son when he opened his mouth. "Now it's daddy's turn for some food."

Ruan held his hand out for the spoon and kicked the counter when she placed it in the sink.

"Hey." Luna said firmly and she took the cloth and cleaned his hands and face before she placed his pacifier in his mouth and moved him over to the baby mattress on the cupboard and gave him his reindeer and dribble nappy. She moved him in under the toy mobile that extended from the window frame and then turned to Chase. "Scrambled or fried egg?"

"Let's do fried." Chase said. "Why is it so quiet at home?"

"Titus is still on a school leadership camp until this afternoon, mom and dad left early, Faye spent the night with her best friend because Sharon's mom allowed her to rent some movies because of the good grades she got, as long as they were still up in time for school today, Austin finished his official classes on Monday already, he would just be sitting at school doing nothing this week, so dad gave them the choice of up super early to go with them and then they are at school early, or sleeping in, and Jet only starts primary after summer, so dad just informed the schools they weren't going to be in today." Luna said and she placed some bacon in the pan and then turned to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Which means I have my two guys all for myself this early."

"That sounds pretty amazing." Chase said softly and he leaned down, claiming her lips in a soft gentle kiss. "I love you, my beautiful queen."

Luna smiled and she allowed herself to get carried away by his lips and then tucked her hair in behind her ear when he moved away before she turned back to the pan.

"Are you having breakfast as well, angel?" Chase asked while opening the fridge.

"I am contemplating having some fruit salad." Luna said. "But for that I need to chop up some fruit."

Chase smiled and he took some of the fruits out of the fridge and then got a sharp knife out of the drawer and began making fruit salad.

Luna took a plate out once the food was ready and she dished up and smiled when she turned to the counter and found her husband making fruit salad. "I probably would've had an apple and some yogurt again."

"This is still apple and yogurt, if you add yogurt, there are just some extra fruits added." Chase said and he kissed her cheek and then scraped the banana off into the bowl and got the yogurt out before he sat down. "It is the least I could do since I was waiting for my breakfast, and you did buy the grapes off the sticks and precut papaya."

"Actually mom did." Luna said and she added yogurt to the fruits and mixed it through before she dished some up. She looked at Ruan when he squirmed and smiled when she saw he just stirred a little bit but kept on sleeping.
