Chase lay on the floor in the lounge with his two-day-old daughter on his chest and watched as Ruan mimicked his rabbit in gnawing on a carrot, amazed at how far his son had come from the tiny baby in the NICU.

"The bed will be much more comfortable." Bryon said softly appearing over the couch.

"Hi dad." Chase said. "Luna had just finished feeding this little lady when I got home, and she felt really bad about not having woken up when her alarm went off to make me some breakfast, so I asked Ruan what he wanted for breakfast and he decided that some of the cracker bread with cream cheese and some of the thinly sliced ham was a really good idea. So I sent Luna back to bed and made me and my son some breakfast, and decided not to go to the bedroom so that she could get some more sleep in. I'm just hoping she isn't waiting for me to come climb into bed."

"She was crashed out when mom checked in on her." Bryon said.

"Great." Chase said and he kissed his daughter's head when she moved a little.

"Ruan, are you going to church with pa?" Bryon asked.

Ruan looked up and he looked at his rabbit and then nodded before he placed his carrot on the coffee table and picked his rabbit up with the carrot piece.

Bryon took the carrot from the coffee table and then picked the boy and his rabbit up. "Chase, at least get onto the couch."

Chase nodded and he sat up carefully and then moved to the couch and five minutes later when his mom checked in on him with a duvet, he was fast asleep.

Sephira smiled and she took the baby girl from him and laid her in the cradle and then threw the duvet over her son and tucked him in. She threw a baby blanket over the baby girl and tucked it in around her and then went back to the kitchen and made sure all her kids were eating. "Where is Jet?"
"In her room." Faye said and she folded her slice of toast double. "She doesn't want to get out of bed."

Sephira nodded and she went up the stairs to her youngest's room and looked at the little girl crying under the duvet. "Jenifer Colton."

"I don't want to get up." Jet cried.

Sephira looked at her and then pulled the duvet away from her face and did a temperature reading. "We are having breakfast, are you going to come and get breakfast and go to church, or are you going to stay in bed all morning and no snacks until lunch time?"

"It's cold outside." Jet cried.

"That is why you have warm clothes." Sephira said. "Did you maybe think about it that while you are whining because you have to get out of your warm bed and go have breakfast, there is a hungry little girl out in the streets who would love to be up woken up at seven in the morning from a nice warm bed to go and get breakfast?"

Jet shook her head and she sat up. "I'm cold."

"We agreed you could get a heated blanket if we don't battle getting you out of bed." Sephira said. "You have been whining every day since you had it a week. You are going back to a hot water bottle tonight, young lady. Get out of bed and get your bum downstairs for breakfast, and you can be miserable the whole day through, or you can get over it and have a good day."

"But mommy..." Jet began before she began crying.

"Are you still going to come and have breakfast?" Sephira asked firmly. "You want to be in the Christmas play, so you need to get out of bed and get to church, and you are going to go to church either with breakfast and in your proper clothes, or without breakfast in your pajamas."

"Mom, just leave her." Titus said coming past with Austin's backpack. "She wants attention, and you are busy entertaining it. The harder she cries, the more you talk to her."
