Night

19 5 7

Dusk sways beyond oceans wide,
Deep blue, sparkling stars-
Lits the seas on which moons ride.

Beneath the vast glorious skies,
We find peace and rest—
And sleep as each moment flies

Then the heavens let down dew,
On the little sprout,
By the lake that bids adieu.

Swiftly, my still night rolls on—
the sound wings of time,
Till each lost sun is reborn!
