Fast forward

•this chapter fast forwards to Christmas, which is spent in Teegan's home town, which is basically back at the orphanage•

•Teegans POV•
"Trevor, wake up, were here" I said waking up Trevor.

I was nervous, I haven't been back to Canada since I left- over a year and a half ago.

We had my old care taker, Joanna pick us up from the airport and she was happy to see me.

"Teegan! You've grown up so much in such little time" she said hugging me.

"Haha, yea. How's the orphanage?" I said and we drove to the orphanage.

"A lot more kids came after you left, Tee" she said and I got out of the car and admired the once red brick building replaced by dark blue paint.

"I see enough money to redo the walls" I said walking inside and now, instead a faint yellow paint, it was a dark red.

"Yes, plus these children kept ruining the walls" she said laughing and I heard a ton of screams coming from outside.

I walked outside as Trevor helped Joanna take our bags up stairs.

"TEEGAN!" A few girls yelled and ran up to me.

"Hey guys" I said hugging them all.

"How's America?! AND CALIFORNIA" I heard different questions.

"It's amazing . I'm glad to be back for a few days!" I said and I walked inside.

"Hey, Joanna? What happened to Rory" I asked. Rory was a year younger than me and she was the best person I've ever met here.

"Teegan, can I speak to you privately" Joanna said leading me into Rory and I's old room.

"Where's Rory's stuff?" I asked and noticed all her stuff was replaced with toys.

"Teegan, Rory... She- Teegan, Rory um... passed away" Joanna said and I felt tears stinging my eyes.

"Wha- how- why didn't anyone tell me?!"

"I tried contacting you. But, it kept losing the call. Wouldn't connect" she said hugging me.

"How.... How did she pass" I asked fully crying.

"......Suicide...."

"What..." I asked stepping away.

"Teegan, I'm so sorry" I walked outside ignoring Trevor and Joanna's voices.

I walked down to Luigi's Italian ice shop and walked inside.

"Teegan!" Luigi's wife, Mian said hugging me.

"Aw, honey, what's wrong" she asked.

"I found out about Rory" I said and looked up at the wall, seeing all the old pictures me and Rory took and they hung them up.

"I know. It's hard. Want to come talk to Luigi?" She asked and we walked to the back.

"Teegan! Welcome back" Luigi said and gave me a hug.

"How's business been" I asked sitting on a random stool.

"Great, we actually were able to lower the prices" Mian said laughing.

"Haha, I'm gonna head down to the Music Hall, does Dylan still work there?" I asked. Dylan was their son, and he taught me how to play guitar and piano.

" Of course. Luigi would NEVER let him work here" Mian said and I walked down the street to the music hall.

I saw Dylan dancing and singing to Boyfriend by Justin Bieber. The music was really loud, but no one ever complained.

After he finished singing, I cheered.
He looked up in an attempt to see who was cheering.

"Teegan? Your back!" He said running up to me and giving me a hug.

"I missed you, Dylan" I said and we walked down to the stage.

"I missed you too. So, why is the queen back from her kingdom"

"I'm visiting, I'm here with my kind-of boyfriend. We've been fighting a lot lately. It's weird" I said and we sat on the stage.

"Remember when we sold out this place" Dylan said as I remembered how we used to perform here, every Saturday afternoon. Every few days or so, we would get a sold out concert. The summer came, and we were sold out every day.

"Oh the memories" I said and we laughed.

"How's California" squinting his eyes since it was really bright outside.

"Fun. Nothing compared to here" I said.

"Everything went down hill after Rory..." I didn't want him to finish the sentence, and I think he caught on cause he didn't continue his sentence.

"Yea" I said and just took in the place I once called home.
