I lived in Toronto, Canada.

When I was 5, I was put In an orphanage.

Within that orphanage, they had a program where people (in America) could go online, look at our profile, Video-Chat is if they wanted, and which/if they choose, the child gets flown to there destination.

"Ok Girls, people are going to be looking at you all, but Miss Cory, you need to come with me"

All I heard were 'why does she get to go?' And 'because no one would want her'.

I was used to the name calling, but

being pulled back from ticketing, (getting adopted, idk what they call it in America) is new, to all of us.

"Mrs. Stevens, why aren't I being apart if ticketing?" i asked grabbing a water from the mini- Fridge she kept in her office.

"I'm flying you out to California, my daughter, Grace, will be in charge of you until you either find a place to stay, or until you are 18. She said you may stay as long as you like"

"Ok. But where is California?"

The next part was the part that scared me the most.....

"America"

I was only 14, 15 in a few months, actually 3 months and 16 days.

Btw, I'm Teegan Cory Mathers.

The orphanage where I stayed wasn't a bad place, everyone had iPhones, a Mac desktop was in the 13-17 age rooms, ages 13,15, and 18 got a Mac book pro.

AND YOU GOT TO KEEP IT! Even AFTER you got adopted. I was the only one who would leave the orphanage tho, everyone that the outside was a bad place, when it wasn't at all!

But flying to California. I needed to pack.

All my crop tops, shorts, the 3 pairs of skinny jeans a owned, all my snapbacks, all my chargers, my camera, my cases, my beanies, my Starbucks gift cards, and my Arizona perfume (they sell it a at local shop I live by) all fit in my orange and black striped suitcase and my carry-on.

I already put in my bras, and toothbrush and stuff away, in the bottom.

And I was arriving at the airport.
