prologue

It was a cool day in December.

Kai walked down the long, sandy seabeach.

He had always been fascinated by the ocean and felt a connection with it because when he was a child, he came in contact with something that no one believed in.

He believed in something so.. different.

Something that was folklore and told in ancient legends.

Kai encountered what people call a "mermaid".

Of course, when he told his close ones, nobody believed him.

But to him it was very real.

That's why he was trying to become a marine biologist by studying at a well-known University.

As he walked, Kai noticed something very odd in the water near by.

He looked up and to his surprise, he saw a white glimmering fishtail pop out of the water and go back in.

Shocked, he frantically looked around to see if the tail would pop up again but sadly it didn't.

Maybe he was seeing things or he was too caught up in his imagination.

After a few minutes of walking, he decided to sit down on a rock near the ocean.

The air was cold and he was a little cold but it was okay for him.

He closed his eyes and thought about the mermaid he saw when he was little.

Once he opened his eyes, he froze.

There was a person on a rock which was perched on top of another rock that was under the water.

But that person wasn't human.

That person's lower half of their body was that of a fish, specifically like an angel fish.

The scales were light blue, so light blue that they looked white under the light.

The creature's face was very similar to that of a human's.

In all honesty, that the creature was very beautiful and unrealistically handsome.

He had a dark, dusty purple head full of hair which covered a bit of his eyes in the most attractive way possible.

His lips look like cherry blossoms and his eyes were round like glass orbs.

Suddenly, the creature noticed that Kai was watching and out of fear the creature those back into the water.

Kai gasped and shook his head, wondering if he actually saw that.

He was too shocked anyway.

Deep down in his heart, Kai thought that the creature was very beautiful and attractive.

But what Kai didn't know was that the mermaid he saw would change his life forever.

For real.
