Kai was excited.

It was the day that his class would go out to the beach and ocean to find and study different creatures.

Beomgyu was with him, but sadly Taehyun had to say back at their university to do a frog dissection which Beomgyu found disgusting.

"Alright guys! Today's a good day, so we'll be walking to the beach today. You'll be getting a book on the different types of sea creatures that you can find and then you're off!" The instructor spoke.

The others were excited, especially Kai. He had longed for this day to come and it was finally happening.

"Document them and describe them. Tell us where you found them and their behaviors!" The instructor smiled.

The university students nodded, packing some nets and small buckets.

Today was going to be fun.

The class then lined up and exited the building, making their way to the sunny brick street with a couple of cars on the road.

The restaurants on the side were nicely lit up and the flowers bloomed ever so nicely.

The beach was just five minutes away from their University so it wasn't a big walk or anything like that.

It wasn't long before the class arrived at the grassy area before the sand that came on the beach.

"All right guys, time to explore!" Said the instructor as a smile curled up on her face.

All of the other students then began running down the stairs to the beachy area where there was lots of sand, rocks, sea shells, kelp, and driftwood.

Beomgyu took Kai's hand as the two made their way into a small tiny tide pool with a bunch of rocks around it.

"I think this spot will be very good when it comes to crabs and other stuff, don't you think?" Beomgyu said, looking at Kai.

"Yes I think so too." Kai said. He then took a net and ran it through the clear water.

When he pulled the net out, there were only rocks, shells, and seaweed in it.

"Here, let me help you with that." Beomgyu said, gently taking the net from Kai's hands.

The older boy then gently ran his hand through the water, feeling the rocks and sand.

He then felt a huge rock near a shallower part of the small pool. Beomgyu went over to it and lifted it up.

Suddenly, about 5-8 little crabs began running out from underneath it.

"Quickly! Grab the bucket and put some water in it! I'll get the crabs!" He said as he grabbed the small little crabs like an eagle.

Kai nodded and obeyed, grabbing one of the small buckets from beside his foot.

He then filled up the bucket with the water from the little pool they were at.

Kai rushed to Beomgyu who was fearlessly holding the crustaceans in his hand.

The older boy then gently placed the crabs into the little bucket.

Kai was very excited.

He took the bucket and looked inside watching the little Crustaceans move around in the water.

"Wow! These little crabs are so cute!" Kai said, smiling. "They are, aren't they?" Beomgyu looked at Kai in a very endearing way.

"Yeah.." Kai looked at Beomgyu.

"Sorry, I'll be right back, okay?" Beomgyu said, rubbing the back of his head.

"I need to get myself some water. I'm thirsty as hell." Beomgyu said with a desperate look on his face.

"That's okay, I'll wait for you here." Kai smiled. Beomgyu nodded, making his way to their camping spot to get himself a bottle of water.

The younger boy looked around, enjoying the calm breeze of the ocean and the cries of seagulls above.

Suddenly, something caught his eye.

He looked at the far area of the ocean and saw something glimmering white.

It wasn't the sun reflecting on the water, it was something else.

It was definitely something else.

It looked like something that he had seen before.

Something that he saw when it was December.

Kai gently placed the bucket of crabs down and walked over to the shore.

He saw it again. That white glimmering thing in the water.

It looked somewhat like a fishtail.

He wondered what it was, scratching the back of his head.

He was so enchanted by it that he didn't realize that he was walking into the water.

It was as if he was hypnotized.

Then he began swimming towards it.

A sudden and horrible realization then came to him when he realized that he wasn't that great of a swimmer.

"Crap-!" Kai began to fumble around in the water, a scared expression coming up onto his face.

"You can do this, you can do this!" He told himself.

But it was no use.

He began to sink under the water as he heard Beomgyu scream his name. Under the cold water, he felt as if something was pulling him down under.

He looked down to see something that shocked him forever.

Wrapped around his leg very tightly was a piece of kelp and beside it was one of the most beautiful things that Kai had ever seen.

A man, dark and dusty purple hair, a handsome face, and a tail with scales so pale blue that they shined white when light hit them.

He was ripping away the kelp.

Soon enough, Kai was freed from the plant's grasp but that was too much for him.

Kai felt his eyes close, everything going dark around him but he felt a strong pair of arms wrap around him, pushing him to the surface.

Kai felt the hands let go of him, but then a different pair of hands grab him.

He felt himself being hoisted onto someone's back.

He heard the frantic breaths of the person and water splashing to the shore. The person was familiar.

It was Beomgyu.

Kai then felt himself being set down on the sand.

He heard the worried cries of some of his class.

His eyes then opened.
