Streaks of gold cross your view as you stare into the night. A never-ending cityscape flashes by while you silently sit on the subway. Another day of mind-numbing work at your new office job has ended, and thus your long journey back home begins.
"To think I actually wanted this job when I finished school," you mumble under your breath as you loosen up your necktie.
Being a recent college graduate, your parents expected you to have your life planned out. But you never figured out what your true calling was. So when the time came, you accepted the first job that was offered to you.
Okay (Y/N), remember the plan. You stick with this company for at least a few more months; enough to cover rent and other expenses for the time being. Once you save enough and build up your portfolio, you bounce and look for a more suitable (i.e. enjoyable) job.
Looking down at the subway map on your phone, you see that there are still 11 more stops till you need to get off. It was currently a little past 9:00 in the evening so you'd probably be home around 9:50.
Having to stay at the office pretty late to finish up some paperwork left you exhausted. Seeing as you had time to kill, you slouched down into your seat and got a bit more comfortable. You take off your glasses and put them in your coat pocket, rubbing your eyes in a vain attempt to stay awake. However, your head begins to bob as your eyelids get heavier and you gradually drift off to sleep.
The subway comes to a slow halt at at one of the stations on your route. A crisp Autumn breeze flows through the subway car as the doors open, waking you from your short-lived nap. You shiver at the sudden coldness. In your half-awake state, you see a single person step onto the train. She looks around at the empty car and decides to sit directly across from you.
Her beauty strikes you immediately. Even without your glasses on, you can tell she's striking.
Readjusting to the bright lights inside the subway car, you sit up and stretch your arms. Letting out a yawn, you decide to put on your glasses again just to see her clearer. She's wearing a plaid coat to cover up a simple black blouse underneath. The collar of the coat is accented with a navy blue bow. A pair of blue jeans and rain boots completes the outfit. Slung over her shoulder is a bright red purse, complementing her pink lipstick. Her hair is shoulder length and slightly curled at the ends.
