Autumn's POV:

It's been a day since I saved Elizabeth. I got the samurai home and I didn't know what else to do but go home in the coach. We were going back after I got the samurai home.

"I just want to sleep" I said to myself.

"I feel the same way, Miss Autumn" Hughes replied. "I could use the rest myself".

"True, but you sleep on the job, Hughes..." I pointed out.

"True..." Hughes sighed in defeat.

Before I knew it we were almost there to the manor. I was writing on my chronicle again, just to pass the time.

"June 10th,

I'm happy that I got Elly back. I can rest easy now. Anyway, James will be locked away for a long time. He can try to come for me but he'll have to escape his own posse of security first. The samurai were a big help, if it weren't for them, I could've died and probably killed Elly too. Drew's healing well and I can't thank him enough for sticking by me, all the time..."

Then Hughes told me "We're here, Miss Autumn".

I finished writing and I got off the coach. Hughes then went to the garage to put away the coach. I walked to the front door and I opened it.

I went inside and I noticed that something was off. The lights were off and it was eerily quiet. That's strange, the lights are never off until night and it's always busy.

"Hello?" I called out. "Dad? Anyone?".

I was a bit worried about what happened here. Did something happen when I was away? Then the lights turned on and everyone said "Surprise!".

I sighed in relief that nothing bad happened. I saw dad, the maids, the police force, and Elizabeth.

"What's this for?" I asked. "My birthday's on September...".

"No Autumn, this isn't for your birthday..." dad answered. "It's a celebration for your fiftieth case that you solved".

Then I looked to my left and I saw Elizabeth.

"That's why I always keep track..." she told me.

"You planned the party?" I asked her.

She nodded and then kissed me on the cheek.

"It's the least I can do, my knight..." she told me.

"Well, I do what I can, your majesty..." I replied and I bowed in front of her.

"Anyway, leeet's party!" Superintendent Brown declared and music started playing which caused him and some of the other officers to dance.

Me and Elizabeth also danced together but we ended up doing the waltz after some time, with me playing as the male role. I mean come on, Elizabeth's already got her dress so I had to do it. It's perfectly normal for us because I like playing as a guy.

We were then at the table eating some food that the maids prepared. I sat next to Elizabeth, of course, and we were having fun. Then something caught my eye.

I saw Kate, who was very nervous, slowly approaching Drew, who was happy since he got promoted to a sergeant yesterday for his work. Drew was alone at the moment, browsing through his phone. He was at one of the short sides of the table.

"What is it, Autumn?" Elizabeth asked me.

I motioned to Kate slowly going to Drew.

"Oh, does she..." she was about to ask but I immediately answered "Yes, she has".

"I see..." she said. "Let's try to get closer".

"Good idea, Elly" I replied.

We then slowly made our way to the edge of the table, without Kate or Drew noticing so we can listen to their conversation. We want to see how it plays out.

"Uhm, M-Mister L-Lewis?" Kate nervously asked.

Drew noticed and he said "Oh, hey. Kate, was it?".

"Um, y-yes Mister Lewis..." Kate answered.

"If it'll make you more comfortable, you can call me by my first name..." Drew told her.

"Oh, o-okay, um, A-Andrew..." Kate stammered. "D-Do you n-need anything?".

"Um, I don't think so..." Drew answered.

"Uhm, h-how's your shoulder?" Kate asked, a bit more confident than earlier.

"Oh, it's healing fine..." Drew answered. "Thanks for your concern".

"How's your arm?" Drew asked.

"O-Oh, it's h-healing fine as w-well..." Kate answered.

Then, me and Elizabeth were surprised as to what she said next.

"Uhm, M-Mister A-Andrew, y-you have something on your face..." Kate told him.

"Uh, where?" he asked.

"O-On your right cheek..." Kate answered.

He was feeling around his right cheek for anything that got on it. He was getting confused.

"What's she trying to do?" Elizabeth asked me.

"I don't know" I answered.

"Did I get it yet?" Drew asked.

"H-Here, I'll get it for you..." Kate suggested, getting her napkin.

"Okay then..." Drew said and he showed his cheek to Kate so that she can get the 'stain' out.

Then she slowly leaned over and she pecked him in the cheek and ran away. Drew was surprised at what happened that he took a moment to process what happened. He then looked to his right but he was surprised that Kate was gone.

"What?" Drew said, still confused.

Me and Elizabeth were giggling at how smooth that was. I never knew that Kate can be that persuasive.

"Autumn, what happened?" Drew asked me.

"That's the thing on your cheek that she was talking about" I explained.

He then touched the part of the cheek where Kate kissed him and he was blushing a bit.

"I hope she'll have the courage to confess to him" Elizabeth whispered to me.

"I hope so too" I replied as I looked back at her and we shared a kiss.
