Chapter 7 - Day Out

He looked back at his pet before he stood and stretched. He then walked from the bedroom and into the kitchen. He never allowed any pony other then himself to make his food or drinks because he did not want them to tamper with it. He made two plates of food. It was a hay and crystal berry salad with a few daisies on it. He got two glasses of water and walked back to the room, using his magic to carry it all and saw she was still sleeping. He placed the food on his bed before walking to her.

"Pet. Its time to wake up." Sombra said softly and gently shook her, Her eyes opened slightly before she jumped up and moved to the corner. He chuckled but grabbed one of the plates and glasses with his magic, setting it in front of her on the ground.

"Eat pet. We will go out and get some more food for us today." He said and takes his own plate and starts to eat. Fluttershy looked at her food before she picks up the plate and eats it slowly.

"I-It's quite good." Fluttershy says softly. Sombra smiles.

"Thank you pet. I make all my food myself. I don't trust ponies to make it in case they try and poison me." He says and takes a sip on his water. Fluttershy took a sip of hers also. She never would have thought he did that kind of work but she could understand why. Something like that happened to her. She grew scared again as that memory came into her head again. 

She finished her food and Sombra took the dishes and walked from the room, leaving Fluttershy alone. Fluttershy stood and stretched. She wished she could spread her wings but it was like the crystal glued them to her side. She saw Sombra walking back in and he had two baskets. We walks over and took her leash.

"Come. We need Crystal berries and hay." He says and starts to walk. Fluttershy followed him, her eyes flat on her head. She followed him out the back of the castle. She saw him walking to the large black crystal barrier and saw the crystal berries growing around the edge of it. He then hands her a basket.

"Pick the berries and place them in here. Be careful though." He says and takes one on the berries and shows her. It was a red, cherry size berry but it had white crystals growing on it. About three on each berry. He took one hoof and broken them off but it left the berry without a single cut.

"The crystals can cut you like thrones. Take your time." He says and places his basket on the ground before he places the berry in it. Fluttershy does the same and takes a few, removing the crystals from it. As she did, one floated to her mouth. She looked, seeing Sombra plop a few into his mouth to eat himself, waiting for her to take the one he was offering with his magic. She took it in her mouth. She couldn't help but hum from the sweetness and how flavorful it was and even smiled. Sombra smiled and stood. He put the leash to the wall and it took it.

"I will be back. I need to go get some hay and oats. You may eat some of the berries but make sure most go into the basket." Sombra says and walks off with his basket. Fluttershy smiled, happy to be alone and ate another berry before she continued to pick and remove the crystals before placing them into the basket. She will admit, he wasn't like....She froze. 

'N-No Fluttershy. All colts are like that.' Fluttershy thought but she couldn't help but think how Sombra hadn't done anything to her yet. She shook her head and pushed that thought to the back of her head. She couldn't let her guard down.

It had been about thirty minutes when she felt the ground shaking. She stood but the shaking made her fall to the ground as it grew in magnitude. She heard cracking and looked up, seeing the wall was cracking above her. Her eyes went wide as she saw a small bit break off and was falling right over her. It was small, maybe the size of her but she closed her eyes, knowing she would never get away from it because of the leash and how it was falling right at her. She then felt herself being flung back and land on the ground, rolling a bit. When she stopped rolling, the ground stopped shaking and she opened her eyes.

She saw the piece that would have crushed her right in front of her face. It had rolled a bit from the spot that it landed. She stood slowly, shaking in fear and looked around as she back up. She saw smaller pieces that had broken off from the wall and were flung away from the main crystal that fell. She looked up and saw the wall was already repairing itself.

"W-What happened?" She whispered. She had never felt an earthquake before but Twilight said they were common in the Crystal Empire from all the crystals growing. She walked around, still scared and saw Sombra. He was on the ground, blood coming from his head and his leg pinned under a small crystal.
