My first thing to say is I'm sorry this came as late as it did. I was trying to think of a way to word this that would show my support, console and educate those who are uneducated, but I feel it's taken too long. I put this in my book because this book has gained a lot of traction, and I feel that I should use my platform to get this message out to more people.

I am not only disgusted and horrified but angry and pained. The death of George Floyd, whilst terrifying, was not something that surprised me, knowing the systematic racism that occurs in America, but it didn't fail to spur my anger. As a British Korean, I cannot say I have ever, or will ever experience what my black counterparts have, but I've experienced racism and I've seen it. To my fellow Asians, who may feel that this movement has nothing to do with them, or feel angered towards our treatment when the racism due to the Corona Virus happened, please know racism towards black people in our community is absolutely sickening and it's our job as the new generation to change this, on the topic of the Corona Virus, what we suffered, imagine that everyday, from everyone you encounter, that is what it's like to be black.  Choosing to be silent is choosing the side of the oppressor

The death of George Floyd spurred on a movement that will bring about justice and right a wrong system. Whether or not you're American, you can do your part to dismantle the system that oppresses the black community. And to my black readers, know that I am standing with you, and will do whatever is in my power to help. If there's anything you want me to add, please comment it and I'll add it on.

This message is not just for George Floyd, but for Breonna Taylor, Sandra Bland, Trayvon Martin, Ahmaud Arbery, Tamir Rice, Oscar Grant, Eric Garner, Philandro Castile, Samuel Dubose, Walter Scott, Terrence Crutcher, and more people who were failed by the system that was supposed to protect them.

You guys can show your support by signing petitions such as the ones here on the blacklivesmatter.carrd.co

Or you can join me with my donation made to the BLM charity, it's fine if you can't donate much, any little helps. There are also live streams and youtube videos that watching will produce donations to charities.

Thank you, and I'll repeat, choosing to be silent is choosing the side of the oppressor
