Era wakes up with a pleasant mind. Normally she wouldn't be awake by now this early but she is in an exciting mood today. Though she is excited, she is in the gloom. Why? Because she is very nervous. She has recently shifted from the countryside.  She does not know many things about the city. Besides her parents are so busy as they are doctors. Her father is in the duty of serving the countryside people. And her mother seldom stays at home. In one word, she is alone. But today  her mother is at home. She promised that she will take Era to school today. And that's another cause why Era is so happy.

She slowly gets up and gets ready. She can smell her mom's cooking. She has been eating instant noodles for the past 2 days as her mother wasn't at home. She gets down to the dining hall and starts eating. Her mother comes and joins her.

"Seems like my daughter has grown up enough. It's pleasing to see you like this. You are now high schooler." she says. Then she takes a concerned look. "Are you sure you will be okay at your new school?"

"Mom, if I say no then will you help me? Or will you be able to do it?"

"No, I just wanted to hear you say no problem mom. I can do it."

"That's exactly what I'll say."

Her mom chuckles at her words. She knows that her daughter has complaints about not caring about her.

"Mom, don't worry. I'll be fine. I don't need to be cared for by you when a lot of people are waiting to be cared for by you. Be attentive to your job, okay?"

She smiles sweetly. She pinches Era's cheeks. "I will."

Her mom dropped her by the school. She waves at her mom and turns to the school. St. Parks school. One day it was only a dream. I can't believe that I've got a chance to study here. She thinks.

She takes a deep breath and enters the school. She can see a lot of students there. "Whoa!!" she says. Looking around. She wanders around, searching for the principal's office. Suddenly she bumped into someone.
"Oof!!"
She turns around and finds a guy with black hair and round glasses. All the time she thought that those who wear round glasses look pathetic. But this guy is looking quite nice. She notice that by getting bumped, his books fell off.

"I'm really sorry. I didn't see you. I'm extremely sorry." Era says as she picks up all the books and hands it to the guy. And turns to go away.

"Are you searching something?" the boy asks.

"Ah- yes. I am searching for the principal's office."

"Are you transferred?"

She nods.

"Ok, let me guide you."

He takes her to the principal's office.

"Thank you." Era says.

"Welcome." the boy says and goes away. "How cold.."  the boy thinks.

Era knocks at the principal's door.
"Come in."

Era gulps. She enters the room.

"So you are the transferred student?" an old lady asks who has black hair though she is old. She is very energetic. Era nods.

"Era?"
Era nods again.

"Oh- I see. Ok, you are in grade 3 class 3. Ok? I'll ask the class' class teacher to take you."

"Ok, ma'am. Thank you."

"Welcome. Don't you dare fail okay?"

Era smiles.

"Why did you smile? "

"Ah- cause I've never failed yet. In nothing."

"There's we got pretty confidence here. I like girls with confidence. Let's go to your class. I'm  your class teacher."

Era silently follows her and enters the class. The gossips stop as the teacher steps in. Along with her.

"Students, this is our newly transferred students. Cooperate with her, okay? Introduce yourself to your classmates."

Era steps forward.

"Hello everyone. I'm Era. I'm your new classmate."

"Is that all?" a girl from the second row says, looking at you with disgust.

What do you want more? Want me to say how bitch you are? Or hit your head with the desk? Era wanted to say. But as she is now, she doesn't want to create a scene. Then she notices that a guy is continuously waving his hand to get her attention. She finally looks at him and the guy stops. It's that guy who leads her the way earlier.

"Can you sing a song for us?" the teacher kindly asks her.

"But I can't sing."

"Doesn't matter. Just sing. It's not any competition you know."

"Ah okay."

She clears her throat and sings a song two lines. Everyone claps for her.

"Who said that you can't sing? I want to smash the person's head." the teacher says, smiling.

"Then smash mine ma'am. It's my first time singing song in front of people. Nobody, even my parents Don't know that I can sing."

"You are a funny girl. Take your seat."

She goes to the 3rd row straightly then sit in the last bench. The guy she knows is a bench in front of her. He looks at her and smiles. She just smiles a little and minds her own business.

Still so cold. How rude. The guy thinks.

The class ended.

"Ah! I literally can't tolerant the girl. Did you notice the look she gave me when I was saying is that all?" the girl from earlier days. They are talking about Era.
"Yes, I have noticed it too." another girl says.

"Whom are you talking about? Are you talking about Era?" a cheerful girl with straight hair and round face asks and smiles, showing all of her teeth.

"Here we go again." a girl says, rolling her eyes.

The girl doesn't seem to bother about it.

"Hey tell me what do you think about that girl, Era?" the girl asks who asked Era is that all.

"Oh Nia, I think she is a bit cold, doesn't want to talk too much. Well maybe because she is new here."

"Have you already gone to her to talk?" the girl who supposed to be Nia asks.

"No, I am scared." she carefully whispers.

"Really?" Nia asks arching one of her eyebrows and starts laughing along with others.

"Zara stop talking and go, buy us some bread."

"Okay," Zara says smiling and leaves.

"Disgusting," Nia says.

Why that girl talk too much? Disgusting. I hate people who talk too much. Era thinks about Zara, though she Didn't hear the conversation.

"Hi! Once again." the boy from earlier says.

Era sighs. "Seems like fate has prepared a lot of talkative people for me." she thinks
